I don't recall a story that has "gotten" to me like this one has. Television news, shows, have all gotten caught up in this, and I think it is great.
Her college gym was too small, so Xavier offered theirs, 10,000 plus seats sold out immediately. Elena Della Donn, one of the premier players in the WNBA will be there, and, I imagine other celebrities may be there, but don't want their attendance to overshadow "her day." I would not be surprised to see Michael Jordan in the stands.
The NCAA changed their opening dates so the game could be played today, why, she may not be alive in a week, so the advanced the time, two weeks, so this game could be played. One sweet little girl, with an inoperable brain tumor has her future mentioned in weeks, perhaps days. She had hoped to play for her college, and she will today, in this emotional venue.
She is not courageous, she has accepted the fact that her life is short, and does not want that to change her life, she want to live ..... to the end.
The game is at 2 this afternoon, some TV, I think streamed on the internet. I will be joining the thousands trying to watch..
I am watching some morning show, they are talking about a Wallenda who is going to walk a rope between two buildings, and I am considering the difference in these two stories .... one, a young lady with weeks to live playing in a game she loves ..... him, trying some stupid circus trick that could take his life ......... walking between two buildings ........ something wrong here ......
May God bless this young lady, and five her the strength and time, to play in this game.
Thomas Jefferson said in 1802: "I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies."
"The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not."-- Thomas Jefferson
"When in danger or in doubt, run in circles, scream and shout." .... jbd
"When once a job you have begun, do no stop till it is done. Whether the task be great or small, do it well, or not at all." .... Anon
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. - Albert Einstein
Television is one daylong commercial interrupted periodically by inept attempts to fill the airspace in between them.If you can't start a fire, perhaps your wood is wet ....
When you elect clowns, expect a circus ..............
