Let's face it, let's be realistic, the world is going to hell, so to speak. I had a nice breakfast, did fried potatoes with a touch of onion, a nice piece of ham, banana slices, fried in butter wit maple syrup and two eggs, fried in butter. No toast, I'm cutting down.
I poured a cup of coffee and came in to sit down, relax, enjoy the coffee, and then, the news came on.
A crack team of writers, could not come up stories such as we see on the news. Floods in one place, fires in another. How about all the roads being washed out, caverns opening up, swallowing houses, cars, buildings and blocks. No human mind could conjure up what is happening around the world. Airplanes disappearing, ships sinking, gas explosions and big rig trucks turning over on the freeways, with amazing regularity.
Sink holes, after hundreds, perhaps thousands of years, a sink hole opens, swallowing up, well, whatever happened to be on top of it. I don't remember hearing of "sink holes" in the past. Maybe they happened and we did not hear of them, communications has advanced, for sure.
Rarely, is there anything good or positive showing up on the news shows. We do the noon and the evening. I do some updates during the day for material for this blog, but good news is rare. I am reasonably sure that some good things happened somewhere, to someone, yesterday. We heard of a Heisman winner, from Florida, stealing crab legs. I think that ca be attributed to his "pampered" education. My guess is he has gotten away with it before, had someone covering for him, in grade school, high school, and college, he could do no wrong, "Hey, he's our quarterback."
I admit that I have been living with a guilty conscious for a couple of weeks now. At Walmart, a while back, I put one of those plastic limes, full of lime juice in my cart, along with many other things, I checked out, paid, and was almost to the car when, there, in the corner of the cart, that lime. I had stolen it. The store was crowded, I had to park way out, almost went back in, thought about, well, will tell them next time. I keep forgetting. Now do I "right" that wrong after all this time? I am living with a guilty conscious. "Steve, Walmart manager, I will make it right, somehow, sometime."
I guess I am part of the problem .... but not for all the other stuff ...............
