This is appalling .........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have tried to look up different words in the dictionary to express my feelings over this issue. Please use your own. We give BILLIONS to other countries the first family spends millions on trips, we probably spend millions on golf trips for the president. The damned airplane and the costs incurred to keep it flying on way too many unnecessary trips, just the staff that runs the damned theater in the white house could be cut back to allow for tours. The PRIORITIES are turned upside down in Washington. The WHITE HOUSE belongs to these children and their parents, HOW than can they be kept from entering? Sell some of the cars and airplanes, get rid of 2/3 of the security forces, fly coach, cut down on staff and salaries ......... I usually don't cuss, but this really upsets me .......... sorry.

The Houston Chronicle reports that a group of students from Houston-area Lanier Middle School headed for a Spring break trip to Washington is getting an unwelcome lesson in the wages of sequestration politics.

A previously scheduled visit to the White House by the students has been canceled as a result of a closure of the presidential residence on orders by the Obama administration.

The Chronicle notes that the abrupt cancellation of the White House visit has brought feelings of disappointment on the part of the students making the Washington trip and some of their parents. The school had been trying to secure a visit to the White House for five years. Now, having done so, many believe that the rug has been yanked from underneath them for reasons they find dubious.
