My wife did a "demo" today, so I got to spend some time sitting in our van, in a parking lot, of a grocery store, in Zanesville, Ohio.
Why do some people push their carts to the "cart parking" place, and some don't? Some walked quite a distance to park them, and others just left them where they sat.
Someone had left their cart in the lot, and a lady pulled her van in to that parking spot, slowly, barely missing the parked cart. She and her son got out and walked in to the store, leaving the cart where it was. She and her son came out with a cart, when empty, she walked it to appropriate place, then pulled her fan out, nearly scratching it on the parked cart, and drove off.
One lady parked her truck at one of the farthest parking spots, walked past many empty spots, returned shortly, walked all the way across the lot, with a case of water.
Some "experienced" pickup truck drivers drive in quickly, stop, and back in to an empty spot so the nose of the truck is heading out. Now, they passed a lot of places where they could have just driven through two spaces and parked with the nose of the truck heading out, but not, they chose to back in, and they are good enough that the truck is dead center in the spot.
Young people pull into a spot, cut it close, and the car is at an "angle" in the parking spot. Older drivers take a wider turn and pull in straight.
None took the time to either take a stray cart to the "corral" or take it inside, they just walked around them and ignored them.
One thing is for sure though, obesity is a problem in this country. Soda, soft drinks, pop, beer and liquor are big sellers. The liquor store was right inside the door, resulting in a lot of quick in and outs.
I don't like to repeat myself, but obesity is a BIG problem ...................
