Probably the only thing he could do

It would have been nice to see him stay at Stanford, his QB is coming back and a National Championship would have been nice to work for, but realistically, he did the only thing he could do. I would have loved to see him go to Michigan as head coach, and, five million a year is tough to turn down, and he doesn't have far to drive, or perhaps move, with a paycheck like that. 49ers is easier to say than John Leland Henry Stanford University.

Jim Harbaugh is expected to agree to a five-year, $25-million deal with the San Francisco 49ers, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.
The 49ers have scheduled a press conference for 6:30 ET, Schefter wrote on his personal Twitter account. Harbaugh also met with the Miami Dolphins and Stanford officials in recent days.

Harbaugh replaces Mike Singletary, who was 18-22 in three seasons as coach of the 49ers. Singletary was fired Dec. 26 after his team was eliminated from the playoffs in a 25-17 loss at St. Louis.
