Got this idea from another blog, My View from the Purity Mall, and it makes good sense.
Why don't they have to get bicycle licenses anymore? I used to have to get one, years ago, in Dayton, Ohio, in my youth. A lot of discussion locally about how to maintain the bike paths, simple, make them get a license and use that money. You need a license for everything else, makes good sense to me.
You either ride a bike on a path or a ROAD, automobiles get a license to ride on the ROAD, trucks get a license to drive on the ROAD.
Why does your Dog need a license, but not your Bike? Need a license to get married, drive a car, go hunting, go fishing, operate a business, almost anything.
License bikes could be the answer, not sure to what, but something.
