Chester Gould had vision, many years ago he foresaw the coming of television, as perceptive as he was, he could envision shows with a few commercials, and then, ALL commercials and tasteless shows about situations that even he could not imagine.
He could see a whole hour filled with a gadget, with two chickens on a stick, turning round and round, and knives made our of unheard of materials that even his imagination could not fathom.
He could see a plethora of gadgets, made far away, as cheaply as possible, that performed tasks unimaginable at the time.
He could see people on an island, struggling for survival, writhing in mud, with only a TV crew of fifty people to help them. He could see wondrous things coming our of a spray can, to accomplish every task. He could also envision them all selling for $19.95, plus shipping and handling, and even, two for the same price, with, even more. He often contemplated that if one was worth $19.95, then WHY ...... were TWO worth the same amount?
He saw the downfall of TV, so with nothing to look at, then what, talking, and what better to talk on, a Two-Way-Wrist radio. Always nearby, take it in the bathroom, to bed, to work, everywhere, always connected. It got Dick out of a lot of jams. "Pat, I need you," and Pat would come running.
His major concern, was how people would be conceived, talking to their wrists, and how he could sell them for $19/95 ...... Chester could see ........................................ far ahead.............
