Austerity touches us all, even ...................

A chance meeting at the White House gym between president Obama and Dennis Rodman, combined with recent disturbing articles and comments coming out of North Korea, led the president to the conclusion that he would secretly take a "peace seeking" trip abroad to North Korea. The president summoned his servants to let them know of his intentions and to start packing his clothes for the trip.

After a brief wait, the president remembered the austerity measures taken at the White House, and all servants had been "vacationed" for the week. So that progress could not be impeded  the president took it upon himself to do the packing, as Michelle was on her way to pick the children up after school, another austerity cut.

After the packing was completed, the president called for "The Beast," his 3.5 million dollar limo, and was told that all of the drivers were furloughed for the week. Not to be deterred, he called for a yellow cab, and, upon arrival, directed Saaham Gleeb, the driver, to take him to Andrews Air Force base in Maryland.

When they arrived, the president was informed  there were no pilots available, that they were all on furlough, again, as an austerity measure. They did, however suggest that one Rahameed Jurine had a Piper Cub aircraft available for hire, with reasonable rates, and that he was an experienced flyer.

After introductions, Rahameed informed the president that the distance to Pyongyang was almost seven thousand miles, and with refueling stops and rest periods, the trip would take approximately ten days.

When confronted with paying for the trip, the president realized that he did not have a credit card or any means to pay him. Rahameed indicated that he had had trouble with Americans before, and demanded identification and a passport before he would take off on such a venture.

Oddly enough, the president had no such identification, no valid birth certificate, and no passport, only a congressional courtesy card used to enter private restrooms at certain government facilities.

Rahameed suggested that the president not use his telephone to call for a cab as it was being tapped by the CIA. Obama finally found a phone at the base security office which actually was closed for austerity reasons, but the door had been inadvertently left unlocked.

The president found a number scribbled on the wall which turned out to be Barney Frank's number, and when called, agreed to pick him up after he picked up his wife, Jim Ready Franks.

After getting dropped off at the White House, he found the gates locked and due to the recently implemented austerity program, no one on duty. Fortunately, he was able to climb over the fence, undetected, as their were no guards on duty.

Since there were no guards on duty, he was able to safely enter his quarters, unpack, and resume his normal duties as president of the United States. But first, a trip to the gym, perhaps Dennis would still be there and he could explain to him  that "I tried."
