Politics: I am beginning to think that the "cream of the crop," the most qualified people for office, run the campaigns for the "images." The politicians that come to mind are not intelligent enough to run a campaign, they are figureheads, the name on the ballot, but the "brains" are the ones who run the campaigns. That is why politicians, the ones who come to mind, are unprepared, uneducated and unable to perform at a high level while they are in office. The "brains," the "street smart" ones do all the campaign work. Then, after the election, in most cases, they fade into the background. Hopefully, on some occasions, their expertise is continued to be exploited. The "best" are not in the forefront. I imagine many are kept on staff as "advisers," but unfortunately, the ego that got elected, due to winning, becomes knowledgeable and won't listen to good, sage advice.
Wiener: With a name like that he never should have run in the first place. I had a friend whose last name was Sex. We often talked about his desire to enter into politics, and the effect that name would have on a campaign. He changed his name to Sexton, so I will never know. If name recognition is good, he was a shoe-in. I dread to think of the responsibility that has been entrusted to Wiener, a man who has NO self control, no sense of right or wrong, and uncontrollable urges that control his life, and one who has no concerns about lying, that trait being the worse to me. Lying is against the law, ask Jim Tressel.
Tattoos: Why and when and how, did they become so popular. Years ago, if you had a tattoo, you hung out in a pool hall or a bowling alley, and you were probably in the Navy. Why does a lady, with a nice pair of legs, feel that a tattoo is going to enhance what Mother Nature has given her. "Show me your tats, Grandma." The public outcry was deafening when a National ID was mentioned, but on records, the "Tattoos" section is growing bigger all the time, they are a great source of identification. I just don't think they enhance beauty. Just my opinion.
Messages: Seems to me that some message is being sent by someone from somewhere to someone, when a part of our country is buring with fires, and another part is having floods, when tornadoes are leveling cities and areas, earthquakes are prevalent, the aftermath of an earthquake, the tsunami, is more devastating than the earthquake, and still, thousands are siting in casinos, losing their hard earned money, more casinos are being built all the time, a source of income for cities and states, and no one seems to care where that money comes from. Casinos are non-productive, they exist by people losing their money. Casinos flourish, yet unemployment is up, hard to figure that out. Maybe it's all in-house. Casino employees at Casino A, get paid and go to Casino B, and lose their money. They employees from Casino B go to Casino A on their day off, and lose their money. Maybe that's how it works, maybe that's how it all works, just a vicious cycle.
