In car chase scenes, especially in old movies, why does the driver always turn around and look out of the back window instead of looking in the rear view mirrors? I would think that in such high speed chases one would keep their eyes on the road.
It is a gorgeous day in Ohio, sitting here with the window open, a nice breeze is filtering in, the sun is shining, there are a few leaves blowing around in the driveway, nice.
If Obama had the solutions to all of our problems, why did he wait until his approval rating was so low, and this close to the election. Just a coincidence, or what?
Let's face it, we are a second rate nation, behind China. We are not the "world leader" that we used to be, we just try to act like one.
I would really like to know what the cost has been to the American Taxpayer, for supporting the life style of our president. All the extra staff, extra crews on his airplane, the bus, all the trips, the fuel, and all expended to satisfy the needs of an inflated ego. Obama reminds me of someone who hit a multi-million dollar lottery, or the old "kid in a candy store."
I also predict he will win the next election, IF, he is the Democratic Candidate. I still feel that Hillary might someone, sneak in there. One pole indicated that if Obama ran today, unopposed, he would lose. But, this is not election eve, and in my opinion, by election time, the majority that he needs to win, will think he is "godlike." Democrats have never opened doors so that Republicans could walk in. Remember, "it ain't over till it's over."
Remember what old Al Einstein said: Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results - and that is exactly what we are doing.
But let's not worry about the country, we have the NFL to watch and worry about, baseball, auto racing, Charlie Sheen, Lady Ga Ga, (or whatever her name is), college football, just toooooo many other things to consider, hopefully, life and the country will go on, and don't forget politics.
HOW can you realistically put people back to work, when there are no jobs?
Thomas Jefferson said in 1802: "I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies."
"The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not."-- Thomas Jefferson
"When in danger or in doubt, run in circles, scream and shout." .... jbd
"When once a job you have begun, do no stop till it is done. Whether the task be great or small, do it well, or not at all." .... Anon
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. - Albert Einstein
Television is one daylong commercial interrupted periodically by inept attempts to fill the airspace in between them.If you can't start a fire, perhaps your wood is wet ....

Tuesday Observations
Politics: I am beginning to think that the "cream of the crop," the most qualified people for office, run the campaigns for the "images." The politicians that come to mind are not intelligent enough to run a campaign, they are figureheads, the name on the ballot, but the "brains" are the ones who run the campaigns. That is why politicians, the ones who come to mind, are unprepared, uneducated and unable to perform at a high level while they are in office. The "brains," the "street smart" ones do all the campaign work. Then, after the election, in most cases, they fade into the background. Hopefully, on some occasions, their expertise is continued to be exploited. The "best" are not in the forefront. I imagine many are kept on staff as "advisers," but unfortunately, the ego that got elected, due to winning, becomes knowledgeable and won't listen to good, sage advice.
Wiener: With a name like that he never should have run in the first place. I had a friend whose last name was Sex. We often talked about his desire to enter into politics, and the effect that name would have on a campaign. He changed his name to Sexton, so I will never know. If name recognition is good, he was a shoe-in. I dread to think of the responsibility that has been entrusted to Wiener, a man who has NO self control, no sense of right or wrong, and uncontrollable urges that control his life, and one who has no concerns about lying, that trait being the worse to me. Lying is against the law, ask Jim Tressel.
Tattoos: Why and when and how, did they become so popular. Years ago, if you had a tattoo, you hung out in a pool hall or a bowling alley, and you were probably in the Navy. Why does a lady, with a nice pair of legs, feel that a tattoo is going to enhance what Mother Nature has given her. "Show me your tats, Grandma." The public outcry was deafening when a National ID was mentioned, but on records, the "Tattoos" section is growing bigger all the time, they are a great source of identification. I just don't think they enhance beauty. Just my opinion.
Messages: Seems to me that some message is being sent by someone from somewhere to someone, when a part of our country is buring with fires, and another part is having floods, when tornadoes are leveling cities and areas, earthquakes are prevalent, the aftermath of an earthquake, the tsunami, is more devastating than the earthquake, and still, thousands are siting in casinos, losing their hard earned money, more casinos are being built all the time, a source of income for cities and states, and no one seems to care where that money comes from. Casinos are non-productive, they exist by people losing their money. Casinos flourish, yet unemployment is up, hard to figure that out. Maybe it's all in-house. Casino employees at Casino A, get paid and go to Casino B, and lose their money. They employees from Casino B go to Casino A on their day off, and lose their money. Maybe that's how it works, maybe that's how it all works, just a vicious cycle.

Duplicate PLEA for MONEY from the RNC different SOURCE
Got the same email from NEWSMAX ......... same poll .............. only works if you do a donation.
I just took my name off of the RNC mailing list as well as the RNC.
Just ONCE it would be nice to see a piece mailed to me with QUALIFICATIONS and GOALS of a candidate, rather than just a PLEA for money.
Makes you wonder WHY there are so MANY INDEPENDENTS, doesn't it.
Politics and our political system just makes you "proud" to be an American

Kabuki
Kabuki is the highly stylized classical Japanese dance-drama, known for the stylization of its drama and for the elaborate make-up worn by some of its performers. Kabuki is therefore sometimes translated as "the art of singing and dancing." Since the word kabuki is believed to derive from the verb kabuku, meaning "to lean" or "to be out of the ordinary", kabuki can be interpreted as "avant-garde" or "bizarre" theatre.

Politics as usual in Illinois
The Illinois Supreme Court ruled unanimously on Thursday that Rahm Emanuel can run as a candidate for mayor in next month's Chicago elections, overturning an appeals court decision that had knocked the former White House chief of staff off the ballot.
The scathing majority opinion from five of the justices on the Illinois Supreme Court scolded the appellate court for adopting a previously unheard of test for residency in Illinois, saying it was without any foundation in Illinois law.
In reversing the 2-to-1 appellate ruling, the justices said what it means to be a resident for election purposes was clearly established long ago and Illinois law has been consistent on the matter for well over a century.
Two justices concurred with the majority in ruling Emanuel eligible for the ballot, but wrote a separate opinion stating the law is not as clear-cut as the majority states.
Emanuel lived for nearly two years in Washington working for President Obama until he moved back to Chicago in October to run for mayor.
Emanuel, who has said he always intended to return to Chicago and was only living in Washington at the request of the president, had asked the Supreme Court to overturn the Feb. 22 appeals court ruling.
Within minutes of the ruling, Emanuel was at a downtown Chicago public transit station shaking hands with residents.

Is Toning Down The Rhetoric All Talk?
by Linton Weeks
During his address Wednesday at a memorial service for victims of the Jan. 8 shootings in Tucson, Ariz., President Obama called on Americans to "make sure that we're talking with each other in a way that — that heals, not in a way that wounds."
This week brought a high volume of hypercharged rhetoric over whether hypercharged rhetoric contributed to last Saturday's shootings in Tucson, Ariz. Yet there is no indication that the country will do better when it comes to violent speech, or that the spitting match will ever end.
The airwaves and blogosphere continue to zing with tirades and accusations and recriminations. And The New York Times reported on Thursday that the two-year-old Civility Project, an effort to get members of Congress to sign a pledge of mannerliness, is being dissolved because only three people signed it.
Does the public really want a kinder, gentler brand of politics?

Random Thoughts on a Monday
Helen Thoreau fell off of a chair, and layed on the floor for six hours ... if she had Lifeline, she would have been notified and help would have been on the way almost immediately.
When Mrs. Thoreau was asked about the experience, she replied, "Best rest I've had in years."
Politicians are getting lazy. TV ads, telephone calls, they make one recording and thousands of calls are made. I must admit, I'm getting a little sick and tired of them. I tune out the TV ads, can't tell who they are for anyway. In Ohio, Kasich mentions Strickland, his opponent, more than he mentions his own name, and vice versa.
I honestly believe that certain races are "targeted" and outcomes are pre-determined, i.e., Reid will win in Nevada and Kasich will lose in Ohio. Obama wants Ohio, looking ahead to 2012. So, I would be shocked if Strickland loses, Obama and his band of merry supporters have worked too hard. Joe and Billy and Michelle and the president himself have made many trips to Ohio. Rumor has it that there is a temporary Oval Office set up in Columbus so BO can get some work done.
Charlie Sheen, that's another story. Two bottles of booze, $6500 each, porn star, wife, ex-wife, trash an expensive hotel room, re-hab time for old Charlie, runs in the family.
The press tried to reach the rest of the cast for comment, but no one knew their names or who they were or where they lived. No listing for Charlie's Mom, Charlie's Brother, Charlie's Brother's Kid, Charlie's Housekeeper, the girl who climbs up Charlie's porch, Charlie's Brothers ex-wife, or the tall guy who is married to Charlie's Brother's ex-wife.

I'm Tired ............
For months now I have been suggesting that CONSERVATIVES should get off their butts and start doing some positive campaigning. It was so much fun just ridiculing Obama and his group. It apparently was much easier doing that than coming up with anything positive, like who to vote for and why.
Now the Liberals are doing the things they do so well. They are selecting critical areas of the political picture, doing just what they have to do to insure that they will maintain control, everywhere that is important.
Biden, Obama, Clinton, and others are being orchestrated by a political conductor who possesses an infinite amount of wisdom on what it is going to take to win what they need to win.
I think, now more than ever, that they are going to pull it off. They are relying on Republican complacency and over confidence, as they have in the past. I have done Blogs, Facebook entries, Emails and on a website, and no one would listen.
I am old, and I am tired. I am now just going to sit back and watch it all happen, and hear their new cry, What Happened In November, and then Wait Till 2012. RIP Liberals.

Remember that figure .............. 545
One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

Wait till November ..... more
I thought of an incident that happened many years ago, that I think relates to the Republican Party of today and their "wait till November" attitude. I personally don't see that they are doing anything that will in any way affect or alter any of the outcomes in November.
I worked in an employment office in the mid 60's.
One morning a young couple entered the office. He filled out an application, and when he completed it, our receptionist brought him back to my office (cubicle).
Our policy was to go over the application during the interview, keep the applicant from talking, and pick out "sizzle" and mark it in red. The sizzle was perhaps something that the applicant had done, out of the ordinary, that perhaps others in his same situation had not done. Object, to make him more appealing when trying to "sell" him to a prospective employer, to get an interview.
All during the interview the applicant wants to talk, to tell me how great he is, and sell himself, to me. But our training is geared to keeping the applicant quiet, till the interview is over ..... and then ..... I lean back in my chair, perhaps light a cigaarette, and say to him, "Now, what do you REALLY want to do?"
Finally, their opportunity to talk.
"I want to apply for that Draftsman job you had in the Advocate last night."
"Are you a Draftsman?"
"No."
"Have you ever worked as a Draftsman, taken any schooling on drafting, Drafting in high school, anything?"
"No, my wife thought it would be a good job for me."
He neglected to lay the foundation and be prepared for his future, and his wife failed to recognize that. He probably told himself, "Wait till I am a Draftsman," or, as the Republicans or Conservatives say, "Wait till November."
The loss in Florida yesterday, "Oh that was a predominately Democratic area."
Then why did he run, and moreover, why did he think he could win, who told him he could? I am sure they asked for support money to insure his victory.
The only positive I know, wait till November, we will celebrate Thanksgiving.

Wait till November
The Conservative Battle Cry now is "Wait till November."
I got my first Email the day after the Bill passage from the Republican Party, "Send Money." Nothing about Candidates, course of action, preparing for, grooming someone, NO, just "Send Money."
I have to wonder WHAT the party is going to do between now and then to make all these changes. I think it is going to take much more than money to bring them about.
I see here in Ohio, some union support has been withdrawn from a YES voter, More of this has to happen, voices have to be heard loud and clear, support has to be withdrawn, and a clear message has to be sent to those who voted for Obama Care or the "Hussein Hospitalization Plan."
I hope that all who are concerned get off of their "Academic Asses" and get something done. November 2010 will not be a Conservative Victory unless action is taken now, and continues on, until that November date.
Socialism has knocked on our door, the door has been opened, and one foot is in. Remember, that's all a good salesman needs, "one foot in the door."
Just sitting back and chanting "Wait till November" is not going to bring any changes. We're dealing with "Illinois Politics" now, they don't always play fair.
