winter has hit us down here in ol southeastern ahia but we is gettin long pretty well     ezzie and the kids is doin good to     we tended a grange hall meetin last week an guvenment an poltics was al thet they talked bout      ol cozey john sed he was not sur ifn ol bama wuz doin a good job or not     cozey sed the best thing he has don was goin to haaawwwiiii for a few days on his big aiplane thet jet one or whatever they call it

i tink you herd me talk bout ol cottey dillon from over at wheeling     well he dyed tu weeks ago an our agency here at home drove us over there in one of them leetle buses they have     ezzies sister eva had called us an tole us about him dyiin an we tole her we wud be at the funral     well we knew we wuz gonna be late to the funral so ezzie called eva and tole her to save us a seet at the funral home cuz we was a gonna be late     well that gal that drove thet leetle bus did a good job a drivin     she drove pretty fast cause she knew we was late and we really hurried to get ther    sorta hell bent fer lection so as to speek    

well we got to the funral home an the service had begun when we got there but we went in an saw old eva and she was a savin us seets in the funral home    i let ezzie go in the pew thing first like any good gentlemaan would do an then i went in after her and we set down       afer a bit i quieteelly reeched over to shake the hand of eva  an i did an then i looked at ezzie and i was a shakin her hand     well after all thet drivin an speedin an hurrien and then here i was shaken the hand of ezzie     well eva saw what we had a dun an she looked up at ezzie an the two of them got to laughin kindee quitly at first an then they culdnt stop laughin and then they had to get up an walk outta thet funral room we was in an they was still a laughin

well ol dooley thets bout it for now     we got a a letter from the guvenment place an they asked if we wassa still not growin crops an iffn we aint they will send us our check      i think i tol you bout not growin corn and we got so much money an i ast them bout maryijuana and the guvenment man sed ifn we didnt grow thet we wulld even get more money so now we ainta grown thet     they wanted us to let them know what we wasnt gonna raise next year so they can a figur what we will get paid then
