Politicians ..... ?

Perhaps it is my advanced age, but my view of politicians, how I perceive them, has altered drastically. I was at a meeting last night, a fundraiser, for a politician, attended by up and coming wanna be politicians, some old times who had been in the game for a while, and some in office now. Probably the largest representation in the group was money, old money, who, I am sure have benefited in one way or another, from their association with politicians, and maintain their contact, out of habit.

The politicians, in attendance, I must admit, I had little to no respect for, those there, who had "worked" and been successful, I had respect and admiration for. They play their own game, have their own set of rules, they have that .... look in their eyes ... they are always looking for, seeking that situation or that someone, who can be beneficial to their political career. They like to shake the right hand, and the right time. They will shake any hand, but some get that little extra squeeze of sincerity, that what can you do for me look.

The next time you shake the hand of a politician, look at his eyes. Most generally, they are not looking at you, but, where their next handshake is coming from, no sincerity, just necessity.

The "Political Bar" has been lowered, greatly, in recent years, in my eyes, it is laying on the ground.

I respected FDR, HE was the President, there have been some, since then, I have respected, but recently, there are none, "You are a what?"

Create Jobs ????????

How do you create jobs? ALL politicians say they are going to create more jobs, how? I smile to myself every time I hear any of them talking about creating more jobs. I don't think that is how it is done.

I remember a few years ago, I was at Rollercoaster Studio in New Jersey, and I was talking with one of the Icons in the Infomercial world, he has sold millions of products on TV. There  were a few of us standing around talking, and everyone had an idea for a great product he could sell. He listened to all of our ideas, and then made a comment I will never forget, "Is there a need for it." That was his criteria for taking on a new product his company would sell on "As seen on TV."

Looking back at my high school days, I think we were taught that "NEED" creates jobs, not politicians, not money, not entrepreneurs, NEED creates jobs.

Products are made to be sold, services are offered and utilized, food is produced to be eaten. If we don't need the product there is no need to produce it.

I have never heard any politician use the word "need," they always say they will "create."

That is why I believe NONE of them, it is just "political rhetoric." It sounds good. "I am going to create a job for my Mother making apple pie." How great is that?

What If Congressmen Wore Uniforms Like NASCAR Drivers Which Identifies All Their Corporate Sponsors?

I got this in an email today, wish I had thought of it.

NASCAR racing is one of the most popular sports in America. Aw, the cars.  Sometimes it’s hard to see the actual color of the car through all of the corporate decals that cover as much of the surface as possible.

But they’re nothing compared to the safety suits worn by the drivers.  Years ago there were a few patches on their jumpsuits, but today’s NASCAR drivers are covered from head to toe with the emblems of all their corporate sponsors. Without all of the corporate sponsors, who donate their products and/or money to the drivers, many of the car owners could not afford to put their cars on the tracks.  Sponsors play a very important role in NASCAR and they like to have their names plastered all over the drivers and their cars and in as many places as possible.

So what if all politicians, especially those in the US House, Senate and White House, were required to wear a uniform with patches from all of their corporate sponsors just like the NASCAR drivers?  Banks, unions, airlines, manufacturers and more, all with their names and logos displayed on each politician for the country to see.

I can see images of Barack Obama’s uniform with patches from all of the different labor unions nearly covering his entire uniform.  Crammed in between them would be the patches of the Pride-LGBT and other homosexual groups, various socialist, communist and Muslim organizations and let’s not forget Planned Parenthood.

I wonder how many people would still vote for Obama or any other politician if they saw who was sponsoring their campaigns?  So I ask, how do we get a law passed through Congress that would require them to wear uniforms with patches identifying all of the corporate sponsors?

Excellent Idea ..... jbd

Beyond Rush: Hannity, Beck, Levin Hit with Advertiser Bans

I have ALWAYS questioned the rationality of having an "entertainer" or a "disc jockey" as spokespersons for a political party. And, that is all they are. Some started as DJ's, some as janitors, until they got a break, an audience slowly grew and they became authorities on politics. Remember, they are just ENTERTAINERS, nothing more, extremely RICH entertainers. In Rush's case, he became one of the most powerful voices in the Republican Party. What are HIS credentials, or any of them. I think Beck, at one time, admitted that he was nothing more than an entertainer, a multi-millionaire entertainer. Oh,, he also sells cups and t-shirts. They all get "drunk with power," and feel they can do no wrong. They are the "evangelists" of the political world, cut from the same tree.

Efforts to silence Rush Limbaugh are apparently having a significant impact on the talk radio business as a whole, including syndicated radio shows hosted by Sean Hannity, Mark Levin and Glenn Beck.

After provocative comments made about a female Georgetown law school student, Limbaugh's show has been targeted by liberal groups that have pressured more than two dozen advertisers to drop his program from their ad buys.

Now, Rush's syndicator, Premiere Networks, is losing advertisers for other conservative programs it airs.

According to an internal Premiere memorandum obtained by Radio-Info.com, the company says 98 advertisers no longer wanted to air ad spots on any "offensive or controversial" talk programs.

Radio-Info says the list of advertisers include "carmakers (Ford, GM, Toyota), insurance companies (Allstate, Geico, Prudential, State Farm) and restaurants (McDonald’s, Subway)."

Today's Mail

Received three fliers today, two big ones, and one half size, and five phone calls from politicians, NONE of which I listened to, incidentally.

One flier for a Curtis Johnson, looked it all over, could NOT figure out what he was running for, then I saw it, small  print, hard to read color, he is running for the Republican State Committee. Nice picture of Obama on it. Read it over a number of times, it said nothing, He intents to STOP a lot of things, nothing about what he intends to do, and not sure what he can do as a Committee member. NO vote there, stupid political piece, he is either getting bad advice or doesn't know any better.

Now a big piece for Betty Montgomery, no, I think they are trying to tell me she is WRONG and a Moderate. They just want me to vote NO on her. That was put out by the Buckeye Farmers Association. In my opinion, it was a STUPID piece.

Another large piece, more note NO for Betty Montgomery. So far, I know Betty is running for something, and apparently people are concerned she may win, against WHO, I don't know. Oh, OK, on the back of that one, they want me to VOTE FOR ENDORSED REPUBLICAN Kathy Johnston for State Central Committee.

That State Central Committee job must be a great one, how much do you get paid to sit on a committee?

All done on heavy card stock, some full color, and we used to have to put a "disclaimer" on every political piece. I guess that is not true anymore, wonder how they get away with it? After reading all this material, the only name I remember is Betty Montgomery.

POLITICIANS are getting LAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've said it before and I will say it again, I am getting sicker of politicians all the time. Now they are even getting too lazy to go out and campaign. We get about five or six palm cards a day in the mail from politicians. We get phone calls all day from politicians, we see them on TV, too lazy to even dress up, campaigning in blue jeans, that, to me, shows a total lack of respect for the voters. And, his jeans were even torn.

Let's be realistic. Obama is going to win again, There is no one who can beat him. But, you can bet on it, according to TV it will be a close race, they will make a BIG issue out of it. It is like making a "one horse" race exciting. They will do it though, a billion or two in revenue for TV.

A lot of it is my age, I have lived through a lot and seen a lot. I am skeptical of politicians and evangelists, I think they were cut from the same log. Evangelists are attempting to do "good," and in doing so, coincidentally, are become multi-millionaires, politicians are doing the same. Oddly enough, they are both making their money on television.

They, and others, have just turned themselves into ENTERTAINERS ..... at least entertainers admit what they are and what they do, they are HONEST about it, the others ARE NOT.

Still WONDERING ... HOW do you CREATE jobs?

Every politician at every level states that he/she/it/they .... are going to Create Jobs. I am still wondering, how is that done.

I can see a company creating some new jobs in an expansion effort. I always thought that demand created jobs.

I think "creating" jobs is akin to creating "weather." It just can't be done.

"Here's 50 million dollars, create some jobs."

Where do you start?

To ALL Politicians ...............

Get all of your assembled asses and hit the bricks .......... I am making it a point, this election to NOT vote for anyone who sends me a palm car or any advertising piece in the mail, or calls on the phone, with an ANONYMOUS number. Get off or YOUR ass and hit the pavement, go door to door, work for your vote, don;t leave it up to some volunteer to get votes for YOU.

I am making of list of TRASH mail I receive, phone calls, and will take this list to the polls, and I GUARANTEE you, that names on that will WILL NOT get my vote. If it works out, I WILL NOT vote for anyone.

Politicians used to WORK for their votes, now they are LAZY, and they will not get my vote, regardless of the party. Don't think the internet is going to win an election for you.

I imagine your lack of work now would follow you to your office, should you get elected, and if you are depended on my vote, DON'T.

My guess is you intend to sit on your fat behind when you get elected, but, for me, that will not happen.

Get off your BUTT and go out and work at your campaign..............

Political TELEPHONE Solicitation

I get a few calls a day from Parties, Issues or Politicians, and they all seem to come in as

CALLER UNKNOWN

They plaster yard signs all over the neighborhoods.
They put ads on radio and TV.
They wear their little name badges, and show up EVERYWHERE.
They appear on television on panels and question and answer shows.
And, they want me to see THEIR NAME BADGE so I know WHO to vote fore.
They have their names everywhere ........... so ........
WHY don't they want me to know they are on the phone?????????
OH, we don't answer CALLER UNKNOWN calls.
If THEY don't want me to know they are calling,
I DON'T want to VOTE for them, their party OR their Issue.

The Blue and the Gray

I think that it is interesting that for the State of the Union speech, there will be no political divisions or separations. Solidarity, as one, together, BS. They are painting an image for the country and the world to see. For this evening, during this speech, by a man that has never shown any proof that he is even qualified to be president, we want the world to that that EVERYONE agrees him, he is OUR president.

I guess that if you are finding opposition that is winning elections, it is time to "cozy" up with the opposition. Someone is trying to blurr the difference between CONSERVATIVE and LIBERAL.

Someone wants to show the image of  REPUBLICATS and DEMOCANS, all ONE BIG happy family.
I wonder if each party will wear a different colored suit ..... Democrats wear gray ............ Republicans wear blue ......... BLUE/GRAY .... I think we already had that war.

ACCOUNTABILITY

The Age of Accountability is often used in regards to the Bible. It refers to the time when a child is "held accountable." There is one passage that hints at an age of accountability and that's at Isaiah 7:15-16,

"He will eat curds and honey at the time He knows {enough} to refuse evil and choose good.

I think it also applies to those "newbies" that were elected, and soon will be in their new offices in Washington.. It is also a word that we should all be using in regards to those that we just put in office. They weren't placed in office because of their record of accomplishments, they were placed there as an alternative, as a message to those still in office.

They should all know that voters are looking for a new direction for our country. We are living in a time that's the equivalent of being on the Titanic and everywhere around us we see people dancing like nothings happening, and they are looking the other way.

It is time for a reality check, the ship is slowly sinking.

"He will eat curds and honey at the time He knows {enough} to refuse evil and choose good.

"Refuse "evil" and choose good." I hope the "newbies" can resist the temptations that are going to be dangled in front of them. Estate planning and retirement concerns me. I am of the opinion that too many enter into politics with this running through their minds.

Let's see if THEY can choose GOOD.

Einstein said it best .............. Insanity

Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Think about that statement by Albert Einstein

Is it not insane to keep sending POLITICIANS back to Washington, regardless of their affiliations. We sent Republicans then sent Democrats, then Republicans and then Democrats, and look where we are.

Is that not insanity?

AND, we keep expecting different results, and they never happen.

INSANITY: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Think about that .................

Is the DOOR OPEN for a THIRD PARTY?

The Haircut

One day a florist went to a barber for a haircut. After the cut, he asked about his bill, and the barber replied, 'I cannot accept money from you; I'm doing community service this week.' The florist was pleased and left the shop. When the barber went to open his shop the next morning, there was a 'thank you' card and a dozen roses waiting for him at his door.

Later, a policeman went in for a haircut, and when he tried to pay his bill, the barber again replied, 'I cannot accept money from you; I'm doing community service this week.' The policeman was happy and left the shop. The next morning when the barber went to open up, there was a 'thank you' card and a dozen donuts waiting for him at his door.

Then a Congressman went in for a haircut, and when he went to pay his bill, the barber again replied, 'I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing community service this week.' The Congressman was very happy and left the shop. The next morning, when the barber went to open up, there were a dozen Congressmen lined up waiting for a free haircut.

And that, my friends, illustrates the fundamental difference between the citizens of our country and the politicians who run it.

BOTH POLITICIANS AND DIAPERS NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON!

When I first got this in an Email, I chuckled a little and thought it was cute, but the more I read it, the more "truth" in rang out. It doesn't take long, read it a few times, there is a lot of truth here.

More,, sad, but true.

Tax his land,

Tax his bed,
Tax the table,
At which he's fed.

Tax his tractor,
Tax his mule,
Teach him taxes
Are the rule.

Tax his work,
Tax his pay,
He works for peanuts
Anyway!

Tax his cow,
Tax his goat,
Tax his pants,
Tax his coat.

Tax his ties,
Tax his shirt,
Tax his work,
Tax his dirt.

Tax his tobacco,
Tax his drink,
Tax him if he
Tries to think.

Tax his cigars,
Tax his beers,
If he cries
Tax his tears.

Tax his car,
Tax his gas,
Find other ways
To tax his ass.

Tax all he has
Then let him know
That you won't be done
Till he has no dough.

When he screams and hollers;
Then tax him some more,
Tax him till
He's good and sore.

Then tax his coffin,
Tax his grave,
Tax the sod in
Which he's laid...

Put these words
Upon his tomb,
Taxes drove me
To my doom...'
