Years ago, I decided to take my boss, Stanley, to play 9 holes of golf on our lunch break at the community course out on Stroop Road.
We both played pretty well, but we were often held up by two women in front of us who were moving at a very slow pace.
I offered to go ahead and talk to the women and see if they could speed it up a bit, or let us play through. I got about half of the way there, took a look ahead, stopped and jogged back to the green.
Well, Stanley asks me "What is the problem?"
I had to tell him, "One of those women is my wife and the other one, well I'm having an affair with her."
Stanley just shook his head at me and started toward the women determined to finish his round of golf. Preparing to ask the ladies to speed up their game, he too stopped short and turned around.
I asked him, "What's wrong?" Stanley looked at me and said, "It's a small, small world Joe, and you're fired"
Then I went back to Nevada. I figured my luck had to change.
