It was a beautiful morning in Ohio this morning. Sat on the porch enjoying the nice morning air. Just enough breeze to be pleasant. A family of wasps live under some wooden pieces that make up our railing. When they get too bad, I spray, and that is the end of them till the next summer. I started thinking, why do we have wasps?
I don't think they are productive, they don't make honey, or anything like that. Not sure what they eat, or what they do, other than fly around and harass humans. Then, it dawned on me, they are like terrorists, they frighten by intimidation, and they can back it up with their stinger, if necessary.
"Oh, there's a wasp!? They threaten by just being there, much like certain ethnic groups and their attire, "Oh, he must be a terrorist," only by his attire.
I do wonder, though, what is the purpose of a wasp? When we see one, we run. Maybe we just need the exercise. Is God smart, or what?

Summer is here, so are the Gnats
Anyone ever snag one of those little gnats in flight. They like to visit with us every Summer, seems like more of them this year. They are fast little suckers, gotta give them credit for that. Where do they come from? Do they Winter in Florida and Arizona and just come North for the Summer?
Some call them "Fruit Fly's" and that may be correct, they do seem to love bananas and other fruits. Are there families of them, do they have Mothers and Fathers? They couldn't have much of a home life, they spend all their time in my kitchen, where do they sleep?
I have many times, seen one in flight, reached out a quick hand, sprung my forefinger and thumb "trap," but, I don't think I ever got one. The are too quick and evasive. I wonder if they laugh at me when I miss?

US forecasters say heat will stay on this summer
By SETH BORENSTEIN
WASHINGTON (AP) — And the heat goes on. Forecasters predict toasty temperatures will stretch through the summer in the U.S. And that's a bad sign for wildfires in the West.
The forecast for June through August calls for warmer-than-normal weather for about three-quarters of the nation, the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration said Thursday.
The warmth is expected south of a line stretching from middle New Jersey to southern Idaho. Only tiny portions of northwestern U.S. and Alaska are predicted to be cooler than average and that's only for June, not the rest of the summer.
