NBA weighs retroactive penalties for floppers

Thank God all the problems in the world have been solved, now, the NBA can deal with their primmadonna millionaires and put an end to "flopping," it was second only to "world hunger."

Anderson Varejao of the Cleveland Cavs is one of the best "Floppers." Here, he demonstrates a "flopper" move.

MIAMI (AP) — David Stern is determined to stop the floppers, even if it takes until the next morning.

The NBA commissioner believes too many players are deceiving referees into calling fouls by falling down, or flopping. So he and the league's newly reformed competition committee met Monday for a discussion about how it can be prevented.

One option, Stern said, is a "postgame analysis" in which a player could be penalized if it was determined he flopped. The league retroactively upgrades or downgrades flagrant fouls after review, and along those lines he said that perhaps a player could receive a message from New York saying: "Greetings from the league office. You have been assigned flopper status."

"No, I'm joking, but something like that," Stern said. "That sort of lets people know that it's not enough to say 'it's all part of the game.'"

If Obama is re-elected, will there ever be another election?

I have advocated that theory in my blogs for a few years. I think that everything is leading up to that. If he is not unseated this time, I don't think he ever will be, and, I think many in Washington feel the same way, including members of his own party.

They insinuate, but I see no groundwork being laid for the 2016 election. Hillary and a few others should be stepping forward, but none are giving any serious attention to it.

They have had four years to get the groundwork laid with Presidential Proclamations, etc., all very quietly. I believe that if he wins the next election, that our country will never be the same, as we know it.

All done very quietly. Unless we openly admit it, and make others aware, it will happen.

They, whoever THEY are, have already put the wheels in motion, they started many years ago, and we are seeing the results now, and not realizing it. Just look at what has been accomplished so far. So many things that Obama COULD NOT DO ............ HE DID. He could not beat Hillary, he did. He could not win the election, he did, he could not get his Medicare bill through, he did. So don't be naive.

In my training days in Reno, in the casinos, one of the first things I was taught, "Believe" .... regardless if how impossible something may sound ...believe it, remember it, and be on the lookout for it to happen. John Scarne could shuffle a deck of cards, "ripple" them a few times, and cut to the four aces. Impossible, but he could.

Summer is here, so are the Gnats

Anyone ever snag one of those little gnats in flight. They like to visit with us every Summer, seems like more of them this year. They are fast little suckers, gotta give them credit for that. Where do they come from? Do they Winter in Florida and Arizona and just come North for the Summer?

Some call them "Fruit Fly's" and that may be correct, they do seem to love bananas and other fruits. Are there families of them, do they have Mothers and Fathers? They couldn't have much of a home life, they spend all their time in my kitchen, where do they sleep?

I have many times, seen one in flight, reached out a quick hand, sprung my forefinger and thumb "trap," but, I don't think I ever got one. The are too quick and evasive. I wonder if they laugh at me when I miss?
