Airologists concerned

Concern has been raised recently, by a number of "Airologists," that due to the extraordinarily large number of "talk shows," both on radio and TV, that their could be, in years to come, a shortage of "breathable" air.

One concern, the number of sports talk shows, where vast numbers of "experts" discuss, for many weeks before, who will win, and then for many weeks after, why a team lost. One network executive when quizzed about why "so many" experts, admitted,  "We have large numbers of them in hopes that at least one is articulate and accurate in their predictions and recaps. We have become a graveyard for retired players and unemployed coaches."

Sports experts, political, entertainment, health, advice, the fields never end. We have expert "pickers," experts at buying storage units, lumbering, mining for gold, and harvesting alligators and wild pigs. There are those who are "alone" in the wilderness, and are hurt, hungry or thirsty, and are unaware of the director, camera man, and sound man nearby, capturing their dilemma on film.

Tonight, THE game, the BCS (whatever that is) Championship game, two teams who played each other earlier in the season, playing each other again. The game has been discussed for thousands of hours by "experts" from all over the country. It is being played in a mild climate, so most are broadcasting from nearby, most wearing beads around their necks from partying in New Orleans. Each one has his own theory on who will win and why, and half of them will be right. Many people didn't realize the importance of the game, until the "experts" made them aware of it.

Look at the multi-billion dollar industry created by "political analysts." Some have become so powerful, that their voice and opinion can actually affect the outcome of legislation and voting. Most are admitted "entertainers" but their power is vast.

And, most of  these "experts" have become millionaires and more.

I wonder, need advice on this. Let's say 40 or 50 years ago, people went to work and received compensation for their labors, X amount of dollars total, and this amount went in to the economy each week.

Now there are few laborers, i.e factory workers, etc, but a smaller labor force, but making millions each week in compensation, X amount of dollars. I wonder if fewer people are making more money and the same amount goes in to the economy each week, but distributed differently.

Might be a good discussion for a talk show.

Twin sisters face murder charges in burning deaths of 3 toddlers

By Kelli Dugan

Twin sisters face three counts each of reckless murder in connection with the burning deaths of three of their children in Atmore, Alabama.

Akeevia Lajoseia Abner and Tekeevia Lajoseialan Abner, 18, were taken into custody on Monday by the state fire marshal. A bond hearing has not yet been set.

Escambia County District Attorney Steve Billy said the women left 3-year-old Aniyia Abner, 3-year-old Takia Abner and 22-month-old Michael Coleman alone on Wednesday night last week.

The fire marshal's preliminary investigation indicated an oven left open -- possibly as a heat source -- could be the source of the blaze that killed the unattended children.

In a prepared statement, Billy said the women showed "an extreme indifference" to the children's lives and "created a grave risk of death to the children" by leaving them alone.

Scott Pilgreen, an assistant state fire marshal, said one child was found in a bedroom and the other two in a hallway. When fire personnel arrived just before 8 p.m. Wednesday, they found the home engulfed in flames and all three children unconscious, he said.

A comment from Janet Paschal.............

This is an Email I received from Janet Paschal, she is a Gospel Singer and I have admired her for many years. This is her perspective, and one that we all should share. She is a very giving person.

Alabama On Our Minds

Hey Everybody,

I have just returned from Tuscaloosa where we partnered with Comfort Care of Alabama for a Tornado Relief concert. On Thursday night we raised $5,000 and on Friday night in Brewton, the concert attendees added a truckload of basic essentials for the people of that state. God bless America...

I was granted a behind-the-scenes tour of the hardest hit areas. Amid the indescribable pictures, it was encouraging to see the people and corporations who have joined hands, hearts, and logistics to reach out to the people of that area. Tide laundry (P&G, I suppose) set up a free washer and dryer facility along the main stretch of highway; next door was a makeshift Duracell battery charging station; at posts all throughout the worst areas the National Guard offered free water and tarps. Many national companies sent supplies, stations, and volunteers to work hands-on as the area begins a long recovery. I spent the day alternating between deep sadness and sheer pride at the response of a nation under God that does not wait to be asked, but who moves without hesitation to help someone whose need is more imminent.

I know that the people of Alabama and the other areas affected sincerely covet your prayers. I also suspect that many of you have already been praying for them. That, too, makes me proud.

We love you. We appreciate you, too.

Blessings,

Janet

John Kasich’s anti-police statements are not new

The recent news about Kasich calling a police officer an idiot multiple times for giving him a ticket is just one example in the list of disrespectful and downright strange things Kasich has said about police officers recently.

Back in December Kasich made two statements about officers ‘sneaking’ and ‘hiding." During an press conference with the Highway Patrol Kasich said:

“You got some patrolman sneaking in the weeds somewhere getting you going 2 miles an hour over the speed limit. We don’t want that in Ohio.”

And talking about the new IG Randy Meyer:

“He’s not going to be a traffic cop hiding in the bushes.”

And back in November Scott Pullins published a letter that discussed a Kasich campaign appearance in which John belittled the important work of police officers in Genoa Township: When asked about cutting the income tax, he replied that he would eliminate it as he reduced government. He gave Genoa Township as an example. He said that they employed 28 policemen and the last time that there was a crime in the township, one squirrel stole a nut from another one and ran up a tree. There is no need for that many police; he’d cut them. (Apparently he doesn’t see having police as a deterrent.)

In John Kasich’s strange view of the world it seems that police officers are lazy, over-paid union thugs who spend their days hiding in the weeds and pouncing on unsuspecting, hardworking bankers whose only crime is being late for game of golf.

He is an IDIOT, comment.

Governor King John

I voted for him.

I listened to what he had to say during the campaign and I agreed.

Right after he won, I got an email from his office, "What do I do now?"  That concerned me.

Most of what he has done so far, since being in office, I have questioned.

Now, today, after his comment about the police, I realize he is a loose cannon, possibly incompetent, and is, in fact, an idiot himself.

He has no business in a governor's office, anywhere.

I hope something is done.

Politics as usual in Illinois

The Illinois Supreme Court ruled unanimously on Thursday that Rahm Emanuel can run as a candidate for mayor in next month's Chicago elections, overturning an appeals court decision that had knocked the former White House chief of staff off the ballot.

The scathing majority opinion from five of the justices on the Illinois Supreme Court scolded the appellate court for adopting a previously unheard of test for residency in Illinois, saying it was without any foundation in Illinois law.

In reversing the 2-to-1 appellate ruling, the justices said what it means to be a resident for election purposes was clearly established long ago and Illinois law has been consistent on the matter for well over a century.

Two justices concurred with the majority in ruling Emanuel eligible for the ballot, but wrote a separate opinion stating the law is not as clear-cut as the majority states.

Emanuel lived for nearly two years in Washington working for President Obama until he moved back to Chicago in October to run for mayor.

Emanuel, who has said he always intended to return to Chicago and was only living in Washington at the request of the president, had asked the Supreme Court to overturn the Feb. 22 appeals court ruling.

Within minutes of the ruling, Emanuel was at a downtown Chicago public transit station shaking hands with residents.

Alabama Governor Apologizes For Religious Remarks

by The Associated Press
Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley said he was sorry Wednesday for his inauguration day remarks about only Christians being his brothers and sisters, and said he would work over the next four years for people of all faiths and colors.
Bentley said he didn't mean to insult anyone with comments he made from the pulpit of a church once led by the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. He said he was speaking as an evangelical Christian to fellow Baptists.
"If anyone from other religions felt disenfranchised by the language, I want to say I am sorry. I am sorry if I offended anyone in any way,'' Bentley said Wednesday.
Bentley, who spoke at the church during a King event after his official inaugural address, said no one should hate anyone else because of color or religion.
