What a great memory .....

WOW, what a neat memory.

Went down as the GREATEST GAME IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL HISTORY, and, one of the BIGGEST upsets in college football.

The BIG TEN NETWORK does game replays, among other things.

Today, they did, Ohio State vs Michigan, 1969, and so many memories came flooding back.

OSU was on a 22 game win streak, favored by 2 touchdowns, Rose Bowl, so many things on the line.

Michigan had a new coach, Bo, who had played for Woody at Miami.

Referees were NOT wired for sound, straight away field goals (no 50 and 60 yard fieldgoals) and kickoffs that didn't go through the endzone, no soccer style, NO DANCING by the players, they just got up after a play and went to their huddle.

NO delay of game penalties because a coach didn't get a play in on time, we seldom saw the coaches.

I was just great football.

An announcer, and one color guy, who said very little, let the announcer just call the game.

The focus was on the players, not the coaches, on the field, or in the press box, they just played football. What a treat to see and remember.

Rex Kern, Tatum, Dierdorf, Stillwagon.

When they mentioned where a Michigan player was from, it was, most often, Michigan. Likewise, most of the Ohio State players were from Ohio.

And, it was, Ohio State, not THE Ohio State University, I'm getting sick of that, not sure whose idea it was, but it is a definite show of ARROGANCE. Matter of fact, that was when I became a Michigan fan, rather than a fan of The Ohio State University.

Ohio State and Woody, as I recall, went almost two and half seasons without a loss, they were a great team.

It was great to see that game again ....... OSU vs Michigan, 1969.
