Father's Day, 2013 .... I want to take this opportunity to wish George Washington, the FATHER of our country, a Happy Father's Day. The direction that this country is heading, I never know when it may be the last Father's Day that we are able to celebrate in relative peace and safety, and not in fear.
I am concerned that life as we know it is in jeopardy. I am also concerned that the freedom's that we take so for granted may someday soon be taken away from us.
The government that he was so proud of, has eroded in to nothing that resembles what our founders had in mind for the country. We are no longer the image that they created. We are now at the mercy of an entity that we know little of, and are seemingly unable to do anything about.
When our leader spends one hundred million dollars on a sightseeing trip to a foreign country, when our leader needs 14 limousines and an aircraft carrier for that same trip, reason tells me that something is wrong, that if he can do that, then he can do anything he wishes, and that includes taking any of our freedoms away that are in his way. His way of what, is a question that only the future will answer.
We have heard and seen of uncontrolled spending by other leaders in other countries, of uncontrolled power, and, we have seen the results of such actions.
George, Father of this once proud nation, Happy Fathers Day, I hope it will not be the last time I, or we, can say that.
Thomas Jefferson said in 1802: "I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies."
"The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not."-- Thomas Jefferson
"When in danger or in doubt, run in circles, scream and shout." .... jbd
"When once a job you have begun, do no stop till it is done. Whether the task be great or small, do it well, or not at all." .... Anon
