Are we a great people or not.
The Battle Cry yesterday was STOP THE VOTE.
Well, they lost, so today the Battle Cry is ..... WAIT TILL NOVEMBER OF 2010. I guess they can use that one each year, just change the date.
I am not that optimistic that come November, the great voice of America will speak up and there will be a whole, broad, new, change in Washington. Why will that happen?
The same voters who put the current administration in power will be voting then. And now, they are fighting Chicago Politics. I don't know how many wanted or did not want the vote to come out the way it did. I think it was Chicago Politics at its best. The very thing that makes our Democracy great, is the thing that is leading us down the road to Socialism. Did Obama and Pelosi really have all the Democratic members spellbound?
Health and Healthcare are important to all of us. How could this issue be so divided. All Democrats were for it, and all Republicans were against it. That alone opens us to a lot of thought. Why was there no middle ground, it was an important issue. Hard to believe that not one Democrat voted against and not one Republican voted for the issue.
Who REALLY wanted it passed, and WHY? Could it have just been a "power struggle," or an ego builder, or a "will imposer?" Did anyone really win?
Maybe waiting till November 2010 gives hope to some, but unless voters minds are changed, there will be no change in November. THEY won yesterday and that same "force" that led to that victory, is already starting to work ............ looking ahead ................ to November.
Optimistically there is always a "next time."
