US sending 20 brand new F-16s to Morsi’s Muslim Brotherhood

Instability in Egypt, where a newly-elected Islamic government teeters over an angry population, isn’t enough to stop the U.S. from sending more than 20 F-16 fighter jets, as part of a $1 billion foreign aid package.

The first four jets are to be delivered to Egypt beginning Jan. 22, a source at the naval air base in Fort Worth, where the planes have been undergoing testing, told FoxNews.com. The North African nation already has a fleet of more than 200 of the planes and the latest shipment merely fulfills an order placed two years ago. But given the uncertainty in Cairo, some critics wonder if it is wise to be sending more top gun planes.

“Should an overreaction [by Egypt] spiral into a broader conflict between Egypt and Israel, such a scenario would put U.S. officials in an embarrassing position of having supplied massive amounts of military hardware … to both belligerents,” said Malou Innocent, a foreign policy analyst at the Cato Institute. “Given Washington’s fiscal woes, American taxpayers should no longer be Egypt’s major arms supplier.”

12/12/12

Today is 12/12/12 ,,,, WHY do people want to get married on this date?

As near as I can tell, it is just so they can remember the date. I got married on Veterans Day, not sure of the year though, I guess the 12/12/12 is better.

Miss Brooklyn is in the House

Get it in gear, Miss Brooklyn is here.

After a brief hello, a coat taken off and dropped on the chair, boots off, a trip to the fridge and out comes the yogurt. Grandmas little rocking chair is moved to the coffee table, and the yogurt is consumed, accompanied by some frequent smiles, scary ones, because they are a precursor to events yet to come.

Now, a brief look around the room by Miss Brooklyn, and a box containing band aides is taken off the table, and a check of Grandma and Grandpa to see if any "boo boos" can be healed and taken care of with the administration of  band aides, placed there by Miss Brooklyn, who has become very proficient tn removing the band aides from their securely wrapped little packages.

Now, another trip to the frig, out comes the Brie cheese and the pickles. A small table suddenly appears in the living room, Grandmas little rocker, and the "picnic" is about ready to happen. A knife for the cheese, the little "toasts" from on top of the fridge, and we are ready.

The knife is not sharp, and much too big for such little hands, but somehow, Miss Brooklyn manages to get the Brie from the package to her little toast, sometimes she just eats the cheese off the knife, and the party is ready.

We love for Miss Brooklyn to visit, always a nice picnic, a routine we are used to, the trips to the fridge, and a number of  "potty" breaks, we have "blue water" in our commode, Miss Brooklyn likes that. They are not necessarily "urinarily" productive, but she does seem to enjoy sitting on the "blue water."

Miss Brooklyn has left the house, now for an hour of cleanup, but we love her visits. Now we also have Miss Emma, but she is only a week old, cute, but no fun yet. She is just for looking, no "picnics."

Putin Backs Efforts to Force $1 Trillion Repatriation

By Scott Rose & Ilya Arkhipov - Dec 12, 2012 6:55 AM ET

Russian President Vladimir Putin threw his support behind efforts to repatriate capital by ending the use of offshore destinations by companies and forcing the highest ranking officials to relinquish cash and shares abroad.

Russiaa should proceed with anti-corruption legislation that would put limits on officials owning foreign bank deposits and securities, Putin said today in Moscow in his first state-of- the-nation address since returning to the presidency in May. The curbs would be expanded to top policy makers including the president, prime minister and their families, Putin said.

Putin and his allies are seeking to claw back as much as $1 trillion to reignite sagging economic growth and spur investment in new industries as the nation exhausts the potential of resource-based expansion. Economic growth is set to slow to 3.6 percent next year, compared with the average 7 percent growth Putin enjoyed during his first two terms in the Kremlin.

“How can you trust an official or politician who makes bold statements about the wellbeing of Russia, but then tries to move his funds, his cash, abroad?” Putin said. “Property abroad should be declared regardless, and officials should report its value and also the source of the income that allowed them to make that transaction.”

Rocket Launched in South Korea

SEOUL, South Korea North Korea successfully fired a long-range rocket on Wednesday, defying international warnings as the regime of Kim Jong Un took a big step forward in its quest to develop a nuclear missile.
While the rocket launch will enhance the credentials of young leader Kim, who took power after his father Kim Jong Il's death a year ago, it is also likely to bring fresh sanctions against the country and further complicate relations among North Korea, its neighbors, and the West.
The United States, South Korea and Japan were quick to condemn the morning launch, which they see as a test of technology needed to mount a nuclear warhead on a missile that could one day threaten the U.S. West Coast.
Pyongyang says the launch was merely a peaceful effort to put a weather satellite into orbit.
CBS News correspondent David Martin says ballistic missiles and the rockets utilized to launch satellites possess similar bodies, engines, and technology. So peaceful or not, the North Korean's launch was a step forward in the regime's goal of developing the ability to deliver a nuclear payload.

Lansing Michigan union activities

The thugs were out in force in Lansing today (12/12), using any means necessary to show opposition to RTW.....classy folks....among the incidents.

They punched out a reporter and then destroyed the tent of a pro RTW group, with the Mohammed Atta wing of the union movement using box cutters to tear it apart,.....what kind of punks bring box cutters to a political rally?

Bigger question? Where were state police?

Tune in tomorrow morning and we'll try to find out....wonder if the father of RTW, Bob King, is proud of the thugs!

To be or not to be .............. President

Over the past year, both before and since the elections, there have been a number of court cases challenging Barack Hussein Obama’s eligibility.  Most of the cases have been dismissed by judges for reasons that are not truly legitimate, but many feel they were dismissed to avoid the political ramifications.

Just last week I wrote about a case that was filed in Florida, that not only challenged Obama’s eligibility, but stated that he was a direct threat to the safety and security of the United States.  That case has yet to be heard.

Yet another case filed in Alabama may present one of the best chances of producing a ruling against Obama.  In this case, Hugh McInnish and others have filed suit against Alabama Secretary of State Beth Chapman for failure to properly verify the eligibility of Barack Obama.  The case points out that the state constitution requires the Secretary of State to verify a candidate’s eligibility and that Chapman failed to accurately verify Obama’s eligibility.

What is happening?

Good heaves, watching the "noon news," another school aged young girl was the victim of a man trying to lure her into his car. She ran to the bus stop where a number of children had congregated and the car took off.  Every news cast, someone has attempted to lure a child into a car. What is going on in the world?

Television cameras are spying on us, everywhere, police are on the streets, yet this events happen with a frightening regularity. Ant this is just in one town. I wonder how often these events occur on a national basis.

Did these things use to happen, and without the "up to date" news  coverage we have today, we just didn't hear about them.

In some respects, in the past, I think people were "concerned about consequences." I know some people who are living a better life in jail, than they were on the streets. The thought of being in jail does not concern them. Jail used to be ?hard time." Today it is not.

Being a parent today would have to be quite stressful. Being a child, well the only advantage to being a child is "innocence." But, the children have to be taught about the pitfalls that are out there.

There should be another way ............

"If the student hasn't learned, the teacher hasn't taught." How can the student learn if the teacher isn't there? I don't think this is a good way to resolve an issue. Is this a good "lesson" to convey and teach to the students. They are depriving thousands of young minds to an education.

Two Michigan school districts reportedly closed shop Tuesday after teachers called out, likely so they could participate in union protests tied to the expected passage of "right-to-work" legislation this week in the state capital.

Demonstrators have already started to march down the streets, as lawmakers return to put the final touches on legislation that would bar unions from demanding dues from workers. The move would make Michigan the 24th "right-to-work" state and strike a blow to organized labor in the heart of the U.S. auto industry.
Local unions spent the weekend preparing for massive protests on Tuesday, in a last-ditch push to pressure lawmakers. WDIV in Detroit reports that both the Warren and Taylor school districts had to close Tuesday after so many teachers called out absent.

Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder, in an interview with Fox News, said it was "unfortunate" that teachers called out.

"Too often the educational system's all about the adults," he said. "To see schools shutting down because of an issue like this is not appropriate in my view."

Goldie said it best .............

Are YOU a voter, are you a citizen of the USA? Are YOU concerned about the direction this country is taking? If so, what are you doing about it, and moreover, what can you do about it. Remember, the politicians are working for the citizens. Are there ANY citizens voices being heard? Does the president actually listen to ANYONE about their desires and wishes as to how this country should be run or decisions that should be made?

WATCH THIS CLIP,  she is saying what I am attempting to say here, and she does a much better job of it. It is something we should ALL be saying.

The VOICE OF THE PEOPLE is only a nice term, the voice has been silenced.

Your president is obviously "pro union" from his recent remarks made about the situation in Michigan. What business does he even have trying to influence the people that way. Was he speaking for "the people" or trying to pay back a segment of society who returned him to his office.

He was "hired" by the people, but the people have NO say in his decisions or the direction he takes in making them. Hopeless, is the only word that comes to mind. What is our future, and where are we headed?

IRS should reclassify football coaches

I tried to do some research on the IRS Classification of college football coaches, some get rather clouded and some maybe get classified as Independent Contractors. They are the "elite" of the coaching world, and along with that they should be categorized with prostitutes, pimps, politicians and others who sell their souls for money. College football, thanks to TV is now a gigantic industry, and to the victors, go the spoils.

They are not even thieves, there is some loyalty among thieves, and there is no longer any loyalty in the fraternity of college coaches.

A college coach quits and goes to another coaching job for MILLIONS of dollars. A college football player goes to another institution and has to stay out of the picture for a year.

Woody, The Bear, JoePa and some others who were loyal to their institutions are turning over in their graves.

I mention no names of these latest college coaching whores, by the time I would name where they were coaching, they might have left and taken a higher paying job.

If they leave coaching, I should say retire from coaching, they can always go in to politics, they are used to juggling those  seven figure amounts.

Russian premier jokes about secret files on aliens

MOSCOW (AP) - "Men in Black" agents K and J may be about to recruit a new Russian assistant: Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

Medvedev has spoken about top secret files on aliens that may have landed in Russia.

In footage recorded Friday after a television interview, the former president joked that each Russian leader gets two folders with information about extraterrestrials that visited our planet - and stayed here.

Unseen on camera footage, he is heard telling a Ren TV journalist he could not tell "how many of them are among us, because it may cause panic." He said more details could be found in Barry Sonnenfeld's "Men in Black" films.

During his 2008-2012 presidency, Medvedev showed a sense of humor slightly more subtle than Putin's sometimes brutal jokes.

Best Buy Sends Customers 5 iPads By Mistake, Says To Keep Them Anyway

Best Buy is playing the good guy this holiday season.

A Best Buy customer ordered an iPad and was shocked when a box filled with five of them showed up at her door.

She reached out to the Consumerist for help, and they contacted Best Buy. They told her to keep them.
" We, here at Best Buy, acknowledge that we obviously made a mistake, but in the spirit of the holidays, we encourage you to keep the additional iPads and give them to people in need – friends, family, a local school or charity," Best Buy responded.

Then, another customer wrote in who had the same experience — five iPads instead of one.

He was also told to keep them.

"I called Best Buy’s 1-800 number and the rep told me there was nothing he could really do because the system only reported one as being sent to me," the customer wrote to the Consumerist. "He told me I could try and drop them off at the Best Buy store, but I had reservations about how traceable this return would be."

"You know, case the inventory person at Best Buy ever tracked me down and wanted them back. So right now I am just keeping them in my closet until Best Buy comes knocking at my door or a reasonable amount of times goes by."

Well, happy holidays you two!

Obama being frugal ...................

After the most expensive campaign in U.S. history, President Obama is dropping his principled objection to some forms of political fundraising to help pay for the post-election party.

ABC News has learned that the Presidential Inaugural Committee will accept unlimited corporate donations to help fund Obama's inauguration festivities next month, reversing a voluntary ban on the money he imposed on the inaugural four years ago and during the 2012 Democratic National Convention.

Obama will also allow individuals to contribute up to the legal maximum for the 2013 inauguration - $250,000 - lifting a $50,000 cap he voluntarily imposed in 2008, sources said.

The shift appeared to be driven by fundraising challenges in the wake of a multi-billion dollar campaign. Obama and GOP nominee Mitt Romney each raised north of $1 billion for the election cycle - historic highs - according to Federal Election Commission filings released Thursday.

Obama's 2009 inaugural celebration cost $47 million.

Officials said cost considerations for the 2013 festivities would mean less elaborate events than four years ago. There will not be a star-studded concert on the National Mall, for example, and there will be fewer inaugural balls.

A spokeswoman for the committee said Obama will still not accept donations from lobbyists or PACs, or allow any individuals or corporations to formally sponsor specific inaugural events, such as the parade.
"Our goal is to make sure that we will meet the fundraising requirements for this civic event after the most expensive presidential campaign in history," said Addie Whisenant. "To ensure continued transparency, all names of donors will be posted to a regularly updated website."

Identical Twins Reunited 24 Years After Being Separated at Birth

It happens to all of us.

You're out somewhere, and someone says you look just like someone else. Most of us just smile politely and continue on with our day. But what if it happens so often that you really begin to wonder. Would your curiosity get the best of you, and would you just have to find out who that person is?

Bao Lulin works as a waitress in Jiuyang, China. Over a period of three years, she found she was constantly being told that she looked just like a woman named Yang Yanfei. Lulin's first encounter with being mistaken for this mystery woman was in 2009, when she was asked by a stranger, "You have come back from Fujian Province? Why didn't you inform us?" When people continued to call her "Yanfei," Lulin finally decided to search for her doppelganger.

In October, after Lulin was once again mistaken for the other woman, she asked the person to give her Yanfei's address so that she could meet her. She never imagined that this encounter would change her life.
When Lulin showed up at Yanfei's house, she was shocked. The resemblance wasn't slight; the two women actually looked exactly alike. They stood face to face, examining each other's features and similarities. Yanfei said, "I felt I was looking into the mirror." Now reunited, the sisters say they feel as if they'd known each other for years and years.

Lulin and Yanfei discovered they had been separated at birth. The two were put up for adoption as infants because of China's one-child policy. The girls share a number of things in common: They were both married in 2007, their husbands have the same name (Bin), they share some of the same hobbies and favorite foods, and their sons could pass for twins. Here's something that's really uncanny -- they each have a scar on their fingers resulting from similar accidents that happened when they were 6 years old.

Did we get an early Christmas present, or what?

PEARL HARBOR

PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii -- More than 2,000 people are gathering at Pearl Harbor on Friday to mark the 71st anniversary of the Japanese attack that killed thousands of people and launched the United States into World War II.

Ceremonies get under way with a moment of silence at 7:55 a.m., the exact time the bombing began in 1941.

The crew of a Navy guided-missile destroyer will stand on deck while the ship passes the USS Arizona, a battleship that still lies in the harbor where it sank decades ago.

Hawaii Air National Guard aircraft will fly overhead in missing man formation.

The Navy and National Park Service are hosting the ceremonies, which are being held in remembrance of the 2,390 service members and 49 civilians killed in the attack.

Friday, 12/7/2012, events will also give special recognition to members of the Women Airforce Service Pilots, who flew noncombat missions during World War II, and to ray Emory, a 91-year-old Pearl Harbor survivor who has pushed to identify the remains of unknown servicemen.

Admiral Cecil Haney, commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet, is scheduled to give the keynote address at the ceremony. The ceremony will also include a Hawaiian blessing, songs played by the U.S. Pacific Fleet band and a rifle salute from the U.S. Marine Corps.

President Barack Obama marked the day on Thursday by issuing a presidential proclamation, calling for flags to fly at half-staff on Friday and asking all Americans to observe the day of remembrance and honor military service members and veterans.

"Today, we pay solemn tribute to America's sons and daughters who made the ultimate sacrifice at Oahu," Obama said in a statement. "As we do, let us also reaffirm that their legacy will always burn bright - whether in the memory of those who knew them, the spirit of service that guides our men and women in uniform today, or the heart of the country they kept strong and free."

The Navy and park service will resume taking visitors to the USS Arizona Memorial, which sits atop the sunken battleship after the ceremony.

"A day that will live in infamy"

December 7, 2012 - December 7, 1941, 71 years ago, I remember the day well. Of all the important days to remember, this is the most vivid in my mind. I was 9 years old, along with my  Mom and Dad we were visiting my brother who was in college in Greencastle, Indiana, at DePauw University.

I remember well the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity house where he lived, a huge living room, filled with leather sofas and chairs, all filled by students and relatives who had just finished a delicious lunch in the large downstairs dining room. I was the exception. I was having an allergy attack from eating too many warm Parker House rolls prepared by the kitchen staff. I was allergic to eggs, and those rolls had an abundance of them. So I was stretched out on one of  the coaches, being still.

Then, we realized what was coming over the radio, Pearl Harbor had been attacked by the Japanese. Even at 9, I think I realized the gravity of the situation from the looks and glances that were being exchanged around the room. There was a knowing hush of young men who knew this was a life changing event. I think they all knew that somehow, their lives were being altered. There was no laughter and there were no smiles.

I remember the look on my Dad's face, he had served in WWI, and knew the consequences of war. He had heard his Dad talk about the Civil War in which he had served. So war had affected his family, and now we were entering into another one which would affect his children. He was brought to tears, knowing what was ahead for everyone in the room.

I remember driving home that afternoon, not a word was spoken in the car.

I have heard little to nothing this morning on TV or the radio in the car when I took my wife to work ... December 7, ".................... a day that will live in infamy," as FDR said. But it looks like it is being forgotten, but I will never forget the day, December 7, 1941.

$2 BILLION and nothing has changed

WASHINGTON (AP) — The 2012 presidential election broke the $2 billion milestone in its final weeks, becoming the most expensive in American political history, according to final federal finance reports released Thursday. The reports detailed a last-minute cascade of money from mega-donors and an onslaught of spending by the Obama and Romney campaigns and "super" political action committees.

The final campaign finance tallies filed with the Federal Election Commission included nearly $86 million in fundraising for the losing presidential candidate, Republican Mitt Romney, in the election's last weeks. That final burst brought the Romney campaign's total for the election to above $1 billion. Final fundraising and spending totals for President Barack Obama's victorious drive also topped $1 billion.
