It's Working

I must admit that one of my "joking" remarks is working.

I said I told my Doctor that my back was bothering me. Her solution, "Buy a bag of confetti, throw it in the air and pick it up, one piece at a time."

Well, Parker is visiting with us. He is a rescue dog that we are watching for a few days, thanks to my daughter, and a wife who can't say no to such requests. So we are watching Parker, who really is a nice dog, resembles a small Husky.

So Caleb, our dog, and Parker, decided they wanted to take all the stuffing out of all the dog toys in the apartment.

So, I have made it a point to pick up the cotton, one piece at a time, and it is working.

When Parker leaves I may have to get that confetti.

Toys for Kids

Not a big deal, just watching the Noon News, pleas for toys for kids. Fireman collect toys for kids, a number of organizations collect toys for kids, a big drive at the station, bring down your "Unwrapped Toys." The National Guard and the Army collects toys. Everyone is collecting toys for kids for Christmas. That is nice, toys and Christmas go together, or should I say, the December holiday, Christmas has the word Christ in it.

Another big donation to the firemen, a big company just brought in a truckload of toys and a BIG check to buy toys for kids. "This will help, we have another 5000 homes to get toys." Not one book in the truck.

These are probably among those kids who are not doing well in school. I wonder if they collect toys for kids in Japan, they are way ahead of our kids, in education.

Is a toy going to make for a successful  Christmas for a child if they have no food for dinner, are toys that important. Why not collect educational items for kids. How about collect "Food for Kids."

No, it's Christmas, we collect toys.

Ruth Lyons, WLW radio and TV personality from Cincinnati, Ohio, years ago, collected toys for kids, who were in hospitals, distributed them over a multi state area, now that makes sense.

I can picture some little child, sitting in a bare room, with his unemployed parents, looking at an empty table, no Christmas tree, but the little child has a nice new toy.
