That's odd, I didn't win - well, I did win $4
DES MOINES, Iowa - Lottery officials say nobody has won the Powerball jackpot and the top prize will now increase to about $425 million for the next drawing, the largest jackpot ever for the game.
Iowa Lottery spokeswoman Mary Neubauer said sales were strong over the holiday week for Saturday's drawing, which was estimated at $325 million before the numbers were picked. That was the fourth-largest jackpot in the game's history.
Neubauer says the jackpot for Wednesday's drawing could go even higher than the estimated $425 million because sales pick up in the days before record drawings.
The previous top Powerball prize was $365 million, won in 2006 by a ConAgra Foods Workers in Lincoln, Neb.
The Powerball numbers for Saturday were 22-32-37-44-50, and the Powerball was 34.

Saved by the TV
SAN BERNARDINO, California (Reuters) - The belatedly crowned winner of a $23 million California lottery jackpot says she had stuffed the lucky ticket in her car and left it there forgotten for months, until a surveillance camera photo of the ticket's purchase surfaced on the Internet.
Only when she recognized her daughter in the picture, which state lottery officials had publicly circulated in a desperate attempt to locate the missing winner, did Julie Cervera, 69, realize to her amazement that she was a multimillionaire.
For Cervera, a resident of the high-desert town of Victorville who has been on disability for 20 years and described herself as broke, the unexpected turn of fortune could not have come at a more opportune time.
"I have maybe a dollar in my pocket, they just shut off my cable, my electric bill is $600 and my (bank) account is also overdrawn," Cervera told reporters on Friday, a day after coming forward to claim her prize.
The ticket, purchased May 30 for Cervera by her adult daughter in a liquor store in Palmdale, north of Los Angeles, was due to expire at the end of this month.
State lottery officials said Cervera's jackpot marks only the second time they have been forced to release a store surveillance photo to track down a winner.

Quaker workers from Iowa claim $241M Powerball pot

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — A group of 20 workers at the Quaker Oats plant in Cedar Rapids have stepped forward as winners of a $241 million Powerball jackpot.
Lottery spokeswoman Mary Neubauer says one of the workers bought the winning ticket for the group for the June 13 drawing and the winnings will be split 20 ways.
Dan Morris, a spokesman for the winners, declined to give their names but says they range between 35 and 64 years old and work in the shipping department. The group took a chartered bus Wednesday from Cedar Rapids to Des Moines to present the ticket to lottery officials.
The jackpot is the 15th largest won by Powerball players.

Lottery Winner
A woman came home, screeching her car into the driveway, and ran into the house. She slammed the door and shouted at the top of her lungs, 'Honey, pack your bags. I won the lottery!'
The husband said, 'Oh my God! What should I pack, beach stuff or mountain stuff?'
'Doesn't matter,' she said. 'Just get out.'

National Lottery - T in C Article
Reinhold Reince Priebus, Chairman of the Republican National Committee, recently revealed that plans are being formulated to conduct a National Republican Lottery sometime in August. It will be conducted similar to the Selective Training and Service Act of 1940. It will require all registered Republicans who are natural citizens, residents within the United States for fourteen years, and have attained the age of thirty-five years, to register.
The nationally televised drawing will be held during the popular TV show, America's Got Talent, and the winning name drawn will be the Republican Candidate for President. Additional drawings will be held for the other offices and positions that need to be filled. After all the offices are filled, and an additional 133 names will be drawn, which will be formed into a Combat Arms Company, and after basic training will be sent overseas for combat duty.
The drawing will be observed by a group of notable Republicans, including Sarah Palin, Donald Trump, Newt Gingrich, Rudy Giuliani and the entire Bush family.
