Laid off workers will get their back pay for not working. To many, that is nothing new, "Hell, I been doin thet for yers," I'm sure some have said. They just don't have to show up this way.
I think the old scale has tilted, we, as a country, have gone overboard, the scales are not balanced. Old George Washington, recently, when asked what he thought of the "state of his country" just shook his head, his tri-cornered hat almost fell off. He and Abe and a group of ex-presidents used to get together and sit around the old heavenly "pot bellied stove" and talk for hours. He said, "We all had dreams for this country, how great it could be, our original idea was good, our planning was good, but somehow, the balance we thought was there, well, it just got out of whack, somehow. James Garfield, the only president who was actually a clergyman, asked at a meeting, 'What happened to God in our country?'"
Sunday morning in Ohio, the sun is trying to come out, but looks on the rainy side. The government is shut down, stores are open, football stands will be filled, Walmart is already working on Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas, they take "layaways: now. Kohl's has a sale, but they always have a sale. Krogers is packed, Marilyn has a demo today, so I will go with her and do all the "hard" work, the least I can do. In our case, it is something we "have" to do, and that is good. Shower and a shave just to do that, but, I have to do it.
For those following my razor progress, I am going in to my fourth month of usage on this one, thanks to the Olive oil soaking. In regards to 4, 5 and however many blade razors, if a "chain is only as strong as its weakest link," why is not a multi-blade razor only as good as its dullest blade? I am still looking for "double edged blades." They are not easy to find. I found my 5o year old Gillette razor and want to give it a try in the Olive oil bath, see how long it lasts.
