BULLETIN:
At least two people are dead and 132 injured after Asiana Airlines Flight 214 from Seoul, South Korea, crashed as it was touching down at San Francisco International Airport, forcing passengers to jump down the emergency inflatable slides to safety.
The Boeing 777 crashed as it was landing on Runway 28 Left at SFO at 11:26 a.m. PDT.
"Not everyone has yet to be accounted for," San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee said at an afternoon press conference.
SFO and fire officials confirmed at least two were killed. The two bodies were found outside the plane, San Mateo Coroner Robert Foucrault told NBC Bay Area’s Diane Dwyer. Foucrault said both bodies appeared to be females in street clothes.
SFO officials said 132 people were transported to area hospitals, while 58 people suffered minor injuries that did not require hospitalization.
At least 10 patients were hospitalized in critical condition at San Francisco General Hospital, eight adults and two children. All of the patients were Korean-speaking, hospital spokeswoman Rachel Kagan told Bay City News. Those patients have been taken out of the emergency room
SFO officials said a total of 307 people were on board, 291 passengers and 16 crew members.
