The Dream ...... of a Kennedy admirer ..
He never felt that Castro, or the Mafia had anything to do with the assassination. He felt that several shots were, in fact fired, but who, why and where, he, himself had no conclusions drawn, but the dream, he kept having this dream.
It was about Kennedy and his health. Many knew of his health issues, few, if any knew of the gravity of his actual health situation.
On one occasion, when many had thought Jack was spending some time at Lake Tahoe at Sinatra's Cal Neva Lodge, a double had been sent to Nevada, and Jack silently checked in, through the back door, at the Mayo Clinic to undergo a complete physical, away from the prying eyes of the press, and the government. The results were never known, by anyone, but Joe Kennedy, who personally received the results at his home in Hyannis Port, and after thoroughly reading and understanding their contents, destroyed the documents. He died, November 18, 1969, taking his secret to the grave with him.
The man who had the dream, related to me that Joe Kennedy, on a "fact finding" trip to the Soviet Union in 1960, had met a defector, Lee Oswald, who was a former Marine. Mr. Kennedy met with him on three occasions during his stay in Russia, and learned much of the young man. An acquaintance of Oswald, also a defector, related that Kennedy had befriended Oswald and even given him an unspecified amount of money to help in his living expenses. On their last meeting, a dinner, he remembered Oswald thanking Kennedy, and in closing, saying to him, "If there is ever anything I can do for you, just let me know.
In the dream, Kennedy knew his son, Jack did not have long to live in his presidency. His end would come slowly, after a lengthy period of deterioration, he would be reduced to a mere shadow of his once dominant figure. His father could not let that happen. He wanted an honorable legacy, one of achievement and accomplishment. He wanted his son to be remembered, but, Jack's health would not let that happen.
He thought often of an honorable legacy, one of adoration. He knew what had to be done. The rest we all know. Did Jackie know of the plan, no one will ever know. Does that explain her composure during the entire ordeal, the knowledge that his legacy would live and endure forever, that of a great hero, her Jack, his memory would live, forever. But, this all, was, just a dream ..........

Whatever happened to the "Milkman"???????
When did this guy lose his job? I am not sure, I think in my case it was the mid to late 50's. In 57, I worked with Royal Typewriter for a time, and one of the salesmen had been a Milkman, and did home delivery on a route. I think their demise varied by location.
In the 60's we drove up the road to the old Jones farm and bought milk from them. I remember the old glass bottles with the cardboard cap, then the same bottle with a metal cover over those, then we went to the cardboard milk carton.
I have memories also, probably late 30's, we had both mil and bread delivered to our house on Brown Street with a horse drawn cart. The horse knew the route and he had a carrier, like the one in the
photograph, and could go to the next house and the horse would follow him. That was a Borden's dairy, and we also had bread delivery done by the White's Bakery. I remember the bottle also, where the cream would rise to the top, and Mom always poured that into a separate small pitcher.

BAD Ohio - Ohio failed to return tax overpayments
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio wrongfully failed to return more than $30 million in business tax refunds to companies that properly requested the money, the state watchdog said in a report released Thursday.
The Ohio Inspector General found that $34 million in requested refunds dating back several years were placed on pending status and therefore not paid out, according to the report, which said the practice violates Ohio tax law and dates to at least 1999.
"For years, the Ohio Department of Taxation has ignored the fact that they are holding taxpayer money that doesn't belong to the state," Inspector General Randy Meyer said in a statement.
A message was left with the Taxation Department seeking comment.
The majority of money involved the corporate franchise tax, a former business tax that has now largely been replaced by Ohio's commercial activities tax. It also included sales and uses taxes and employers' withholding taxes.
The money represents a fraction of the $28 billion in tax revenue Ohio is expected to collect this year.
Thursday's report also said the practice of the Department of Taxation was not to inform taxpayers of any overpayments.
Last year, as the investigation was underway, the agency said it would begin alerting businesses when they've unknowingly overpaid taxes and help them reclaim their money.
At the time of the announcement in December, Gov. John Kasich and tax commissioner Joe Testa said the state would begin notifying about 3,500 taxpayers who may have overpaid by a total of up to $13.7 million.

Fifty years .........................
Fifty years, I remember that day as well as any, during my 81 years, that day is etched in my memory. I was only aware, at that time, at the enormity of the event, and it has grown in importance since then. CBS, is going to recreate that day again, as it unfolded then, today, starting at the appropriate time. I can think of no other event in our history that is given so much importance.
To me, he was what I felt was the first approachable president that we had during my time. Much of this has to do with my age. FDR was a God-like personage. I heard of him daily, during the war, on the radio. He was unapproachable.
oys.
HST, a name, just a man, but still, the president, and, my interest in politics then, was minimal. Much of my time then was devoted to "other things" and politics was something I had little to no interest in, life was good, no worries. 61 63
He was elected president in 1961, my Nevada years. A lot of what I heard of him and his activities, I could associate with, he was human. It was rumored that he may even have "visited" the Cal Neva, up at the lake, and his association with Marilyn Monroe, and others. He knew Frank, and many of the "boys."
He did a lot while in office, but unfortunately for him, he will be mostly remembered for being assassinated in Dallas, Texas.
Pearl Harbor, Kennedy, Elvis, Dr. King, Coach Woody hitting the opponent, a young high school girl I worked with, upon my arriving at work said to me, "You Mom is dead." My Mom was my first "loss" in the family. It was her first time to tell someone that, just direct and to the point. Most of those moments are involved with the death of someone, I guess that is the "final," worst thing that can happen.
But, I can dell you exactly where I was standing and what I was doing, when I heard the news of Kennedy, still vivid, after 50 years.
I've had enough of "those" moments, I want no more of them.

ONE YOU GOTTA WATCH
It happened in Kansas ................
No-one was injured and no property damage occurred when the plane landed.
There had been questions as to whether the aircraft would be able to depart from the much shorter runway at Jabara.
The Dreamlifter normally needs a runway of 2,780m (9,119ft) to get airborne at maximum weight; Jabara's runway is only 1,860m long.
A tug was dispatched to the airport to turn around the giant cargo plane.
Brad Christopher of the Wichita Airport Authority told the Associated Press news agency earlier that the company operating the aircraft had "assured us they've run all the engineering calculation and performance and the aircraft is very safe for a normal departure at its current weight and conditions here".
The Dreamlifter, which landed at Jabara on Wednesday evening, is a modified 747-400 passenger aeroplane, which can carry more cargo by volume than any aeroplane in the world, according to Boeing.
The aerospace company uses its fleet of four Dreamlifters to transport large assembled components of its 787 Dreamliner from suppliers around the world to the final assembly location in Washington state.

Who knew, whoda thought .. 100 grand to create a stronger condom
The five-floor National Graphene Institute is set to open in 2015, creating 100 jobs
Safer condoms will be one of the first products developed at the new National Graphene Institute in Manchester.
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has awarded scientists $100,000 (£60,000) to create stronger, thinner condoms from the new "wonder material".
The substance will be mixed with latex to produce a material which will encourage use by "enhancing sensation".
Graphene, the thinnest, strongest material known, was first isolated at the University of Manchester in 2004. It has more often been linked to potentially revolutionising products such as smartphones and broadband.
Its discovery won Manchester-based scientists Sir Andre Geim and Sir Kostya Novoselov the Nobel Prize for Physics in 2010.
Another Lone Ranger problem.
They say he is well known throughout the West, then, why have so many people never heard of him.
They always have to ask, "Who was that masked man?"
"Why, he is the .......................... Lone Ranger!"

Judi Dench
Not sure whether it is my age, or a convincing script, but, recently, I was surprised to see Judi Dench in new movies all of a sudden, I thought she was killed ..... It must have been a convincing show, had me fooled. I really know that "it is just a movie," but for some reason, I believed it. Only saw the show once.

A few reflections -
Raining and dreary in Ahia this morning. Frank Sinatra is singing "Five Minutes More," on the TV, best shows are "music" during the day. Takes me back, I am sitting in the living room of 319 South Brown in Dayton, Ohio. Big front door, beveled glass, had no idea how thick it was until they tore down the house and a family friend, Gary Geringer, who had stayed with Mom and Dad when he interned at Miami Valley, made it a point to salvage a piece of it and sent to us. Glass was almost an inch thick.
Progress and a "freeway" took the old place, it goes directly over where the house stood. I spent 12 or 13 Thanksgivings there, seems like much more, but just that many. Mom had decorations for each occasions. Thanksgiving was no exception, Pilgrims, turkeys, Indians, all festive. We generally had guests in for part of the day. Had a large dining room, long table, had three inserts. Mom loved such occasions, she loved a "good time" and Thanksgiving was one of them. I remember too, many neighbors and friends would drop in for a visit, just to sit and talk. I am thinking too, that there was the old Philco radio, on, broadcasting a football game or two.
Dad had one of those "contour" chairs next to the Philco and was "in charge" of that. Thanksgiving signaled in the season, Christmas would be soon, Halloween, Thanksgiving and then Christmas, great memories of the Winter season.
I am doing the cooking this year, have a slew of work to do, but looking forward to it. Turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, dressing, cranberry sauce, that I am going to make, escalloped corn and baking three different pies, apple, mince meat and pumpkin. Ambitious, but I hope I can pull it off. Hopefully, what little family we have here will spend the day ... NO TV for the day. I used to love the parade, but it no longer is a parade, it is a TV show, it used to be a parade which they televised .... may watch some football though ...

Obama Wants to Delete the "Obama" from "Obamacare"
If anyone doubts the President is embarrassed by the Affordable Care Act they merely need to pay attention to what he has said recently in defending it. According to CNS News:
He didn't use the word "Obamacare" once on Tuesday in talking about his health care law, but he mentioned the "Affordable Care Act" seven times.
"So, look, I am confident that the model that we built, which works off of the existing private insurance system, is one that will succeed," Obama told the Wall Street Journal's CEO Council Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C.
"We are going to have to, (a) fix the website so everybody feels confident about that. We're going to have to, obviously, re-market and re-brand, and that will be challenging in this political environment."
Side note: it is pretty fascinating to me how the president makes a point of making sure we all remember that his highly state-dominated system “works off of the existing private insurance system.” I can’t help but wonder if he is preparing the ground for a future scapegoat.
What can Obama possibly mean by saying that he must “re-brand” Obamacare? The only possible explanation is that he is announcing that he wants his name to come off of it.
My how times have changed!
Obama used to like his name being used to refer to the Affordable Care Act. Now he wants it removed. As soon as he’s out of office I’m happy to cooperate with him. Pelosicare would be a good name. Or if she is finally ejected, Demcare has a ring to it.
But the point here is that it’s official: Obama doesn’t like “Obamacare” anymore.
Will it really be possible to re-boot Obamacare under a new name?

Put some more "wood" on the fire....
President Obama’s recitation of the Gettysburg Address for a Ken Burns documentary about the famous speech sparked a round of backlash after a local news radio host first noticed and reported a curious omission: He left out the phrase “under God.”
Chris Plante of “The Chris Plante Show” reported the discrepancy this week, and it wasn't long after that the story caught on media fire. His WMAL report, posted on Breitbart, stated: “Curiously enough, in his version of the speech, President Barack Obama’s delivery contained an omission — in a line that every other celebrity delivered as ‘that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom,’ the President left out the words, ‘under God.’”
Following, CNN reported that Mr. Obama — who claims a longtime affinity for President Abraham Lincoln, who delivered the brief remarks on Nov. 19, 1863 — was the only person of several who taped a version of the speech to post to Mr. Burns’ documentary site that didn’t include mention of “under God.”

Thoughts about ...... The Lone Ranger
Where did he and Tonto live? I wonder if they had a house, and where could it have been? They must not have done anything in the Winter, I don't think I have ever seen him in a coat, not even a raincoat.
I still wonder where he kept all those disguises, all he had was the two saddlebags, yet he had many different disguises, and he was able to do all them without the help of a mirror.
Did the horses always run? Didn't any of them just take their time, and not run at full speed. I wonder about the old stagecoaches too, did those horses always run at full speed, seems like they would get worn out sometime. I would think those coaches would ride awfully hard, and even worse if the horses are running.
Always been a question in my mind too, why did that "bad" guys always have slower horses then the "good" guys? Bank robbers often got caught by faster horses. The Lone Ranger and Roy Rogers always seemed to have faster horses. I would think that bank robbers could take some of the money and buy a fast horse.
Since the Lone Ranger and Tonto were always on the road, where and when did they shave and shower? LR never had a beard, always clean shaven, clothes pressed. I wonder too, if he slept in those clothes, tight pants and a tailored shirt, they always seemed cleaned and pressed, never soiled.
They never stayed anywhere, they left as soon as the case was over and ride off, into the sunset.
Often, I have seen the Lone Ranger ride in to a town, white horse, mask and all, and no one noticed them, none of the people in town, but then, he would go in to the Sheriffs Office, who would draw a gun on him, startled, just the Sheriff, none of the town people.
"Emma, that guy is wearing a mask."
"Just ignore him, Clarence, maybe he'll go away, look, an Indian, too, gorgeous white horse."

Lincoln is rolling in his grave: Obama addresses Gettysburg ceremony — on tape
Those attending Tuesday’s ceremony marking the 150th anniversary of the Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address in Pennsylvania heard from President Obama after all.
But instead of appearing in person, the president addressed new American citizens via a recorded message.
“This is now officially your country,” Mr. Obama told the citizens, who just moments before had taken the oath of allegiance, administered by Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.
“Together we can keep the beacon that is America burning bright for all the world to see. I’m proud to welcome you as new citizens of this country,” the president said in the message.
Mr. Obama has come under intense fire from local media and other critics who believe the nation’s first black commander in chief should have attended the historic event.
The president has repeatedly cited Lincoln, a fellow Illinoisan, as one of his heroes. He used the Lincoln Bible at both of his inauguration ceremonies, in 2009 and 2013.
In Mr. Obama’s place, Interior Secretary Sally Jewell spoke at the ceremony, held at the Soldiers’ National Cemetery in Gettysburg.
The White House has yet to offer an explanation for why Mr. Obama chose not to attend the ceremony.
Instead of going to Gettysburg, the president is meeting with top senators Tuesday to discuss nuclear negotiations with Iran, and later in the day will speak and answer questions at the Wall Street
Journal’s CEO Council in Washington.

Oregon healthcare exchange website never worked, has no subscribers
By Jonathan Kaminsky
Unlike most other states, Oregon set an ambitious course to make its insurance exchange, dubbed Cover Oregon, an "all-in-one" website for every individual seeking health coverage, including those who are eligible for Medicaid.(Reuters) - Oregon, a state that fully embraced the Affordable Care Act, is enduring one of the rockiest rollouts of President Back Obama's signature health care law, with an inoperative online exchange that has yet to enroll a single subscriber, requiring thousands to apply on paper instead.
But instead of serving as a national model, Oregon's experience has emerged as a cautionary tale, inviting comparisons to technical glitches that have plagued other state-run portals and the federal government's website for those states lacking exchanges of their own.
Oregon's online exchange has remained inaccessible to the public, requiring the state to sign up applicants the old-fashioned way, using paper forms. This has made comparison shopping more difficult for consumers and severely slowed the enrollment process.
"Oregonians have questions," said state Senate President Peter Courtney, a Democrat, in a written statement on Tuesday. "What went wrong with the rollout? How are they going to fix it? When are they going to get it right? Is the website contractor doing everything it can? Our people need to know."

A possible killer in your fridge ...............
I am posting this for your information only. I know when I was doing demos that many would check the ingredients before even tasting or sampling. A couple of people related similar stories to me. FYI
In October of 2001, my sister started getting very sick She had stomach spasms and she was having a hard time getting around. Walking was a major chore. It took everything she had just to get out of bed; she was in so much pain.
By March 2002, she had undergone several tissue and muscle biopsies and was on 24 various prescription medications. The doctors could not determine what was wrong with her. She was in so much pain, and so sick she just knew she was dying.
She put her house, bank accounts, life insurance, etc., in her oldest daughter’s name, and made sure that her younger children were to be taken care of.
She also wanted her last hooray, so she planned a trip to Florida (basically in a wheelchair) for March 22nd.
On March 19, I called her to ask how her most recent tests went, and she said they didn’t find anything on the test, but they believe she had MS.
I recalled an article a friend of mine e-mailed to me and I asked my sister if she drank diet soda? She told me that she did. As a matter of fact, she was getting ready to crack one open that moment.
I told her not to open it, and to stop drinking the diet soda! I e-mailed her an article my friend, a lawyer, had sent. My sister called me within 32 hours after our phone conversation and told me she had stopped drinking the diet soda AND she could walk! The muscle spasms went away. She said she didn’t feel 100% but, she sure felt a lot better.
She told me she was going to her doctor with this article and would call me when she got home.
Well, she called me, and said her doctor was amazed! He is going to call all of his MS patients to find out if they consumed artificial sweeteners of any kind. In a nutshell, she was being poisoned by the Aspartame in the diet soda.. and literally dying a slow and miserable death.
