Three: On the birth certificate released by the White House, the listed place of birth is "Kapi'olani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital". 

 This cannot be, because the hospital(s) in question in 1961 were called "KauiKeolani Children's Hospital" and "Kapi'olani Maternity Home", respectively. 

The name did not change to Kapi'olani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital until 1978 , when these two hospitals merged.  

How can this particular name of the hospital be on a birth certificate dated 1961 if this name had not yet been applied to it until 1978 ?

Two Little Boys

Two little boys, ages 8 and 10, are excessively mischievous.

They are always getting into trouble and their parents know if any mischief occurs in their town, the two boys are probably involved.

The boys' mother heard that a preacher in town had been successful in disciplining children, so she asked if he  would speak with her boys.

The preacher agreed, but he asked to see them individually.

The mother sent the 8 year old in the morning, with the older boy to see the preacher in the afternoon.

The preacher, a huge man with a deep booming voice, sat the younger boy down and asked him sternly,

"Do you know where God is, son?"

The boy's mouth dropped open, but he made no response, sitting there wide-eyed with his mouth hanging open.

So the preacher repeated the question in an even sterner tone,

"Where is God?!

Again, the boy made no attempt to answer.

The preacher raised his voice even more and shook his finger in the boy's face and bellowed, "WHERE IS GOD?!"

The boy screamed & bolted from the room, ran directly home & dived into his closet, slamming the door behind him.

When his older brother found him in the closet, he asked,

"What happened?"

The younger brother, gasping for breath, replied,

"We are in BIG trouble this time!"

"GOD is missing, and they think WE did it!"

 Two: The birth certificate that the White House released lists Obama's birth as August 4, 1961.

It indicates that Barack Hussein Obama was his father. No big deal, right? At the time of Obama's birth, it also shows that his father is aged 25 years old, and that Obama's father was born in " Kenya , East Africa. ".

This wouldn't seem like anything of concern, except the fact that Kenya did not even exist until 1963 , two whole years after Obama's birth, and 27 years after his father's birth .

How could Obama's father have been born in a country that did not yet exist?

Up and until Kenya was formed in 1963 , it was known as the " British East Africa Protectorate".

Cyber attack - again

The White House is confirming an attempted cyberattack on its computer system, but said it thwarted the effort.

The Obama administration is not identifying the source of the attack, while a published report accuses China.

Citing an unnamed source, the Associated Press reports that "a White House official said the attack targeted an unclassified network. He said the attack was identified and that the system was isolated to prevent spread. He said there was no indication that any data was removed."

The AP added: "The official, who was not authorized to speak on the record about the attack, said there was no attempted breach of classified systems. The official described such 'spear phishing' attacks as 'not infrequent.'"

The Washington Free Beacon reported over the weekend that "hackers linked to China's government broke into one of the U.S. government's most sensitive computer networks, breaching a system used by the White House Military Office for nuclear commands, according to defense and intelligence officials familiar with the incident."

The report added: "One official said the cyber breach was one of Beijing's most brazen cyberattacks against the United States and highlights a failure of the Obama administration to press China on its persistent cyberattacks.

What drink may cause vision problems .......

A new Harvard study has discovered a high incidence of vision problems among men and women who drank three or more cups of coffee a day. The research, published in Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science, linked heavy consumption of caffeinated coffee with increased likelihood of developing exfoliation glaucoma, an eye disorder that affects about 10 percent of adults over age 50 and can lead to vision loss or blindness.

Specifically, the researchers reported that adults who drank three or cups of coffee daily were 34 percent more likely to develop exfoliation glaucoma, compared to those who abstained from coffee. Women with a family history of glaucoma were at the highest risk, with their threat of exfoliation glaucoma soaring by 66 percent if they quaffed three or more cups of java per day.

A letter from Mitt and Paul

Teacher Ridicules Student

Many Republicans can't help but wonder if a student wearing a pro-Obama T-Shirt in a Philadelphia school would have been subject to the kind of humiliation that Samantha Pawlucy was forced to endure.

The 16-year old sophomore, who attends Charles Carroll High School, told CNBC's Larry Kudlow, that she was humiliated by a teacher for wearing a T-shirt in support of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan.

She said the teacher compared her to the worst racists in history -- the Ku Klux Klan.

"It was really embarrassing, and I think she did it because she's against Mitt Romney," Samantha said.

"I was really nervous," she added, "and I was worried that after class, people were going to come up to me and say something."

Zander

A husky named Zander must have missed his master -- a lot.

The 70-pound pooch slipped out of his Bay Shore house at dawn last week. Zander, who loves to run, went about 1.5 miles until he got to Good Samaritan Medical Center in West Islip.

His owner, John Dolan, was laid up there with a leg ailment.

Dolan got a call from a stranger who was across the street from the hospital with his dog. The man had gotten Dolan's phone number from Zander's license tag.

Dolan's wife, Priscilla, said she believes Zander really was looking for him.

Dolan concedes it could all have been just a coincidence.

Dolan says he and the former shelter dog are ``buddies.'' They were reunited when he left the hospital.

Al Gore has the answer

 “I’m going to say something controversial here,” Gore told Current TV, the network he co-founded. “Obama arrived in Denver at 2 pm today, just a few hours before the debate started. Romney did his debate prep in Denver. When you go to 5,000 feet and you only have a few hours to adjust, I don’t know.”

"Altitude," Gore claims was the reason for the Obama failure last night in his debate with Romney. 

Maurey Filster of Los Angeles, suggested that recent fires in the area limited the actual amount of Oxygen in the air, and that was the reason Obama looked somewhat like an idiot.

Sol Rugiane of New Jersey felt  Obama was still depressed about the lack of finding any evidence regarding the whereabouts of Jimmy Hoffa.

TWA retired captain Hap Harrington stated it looked to him like a very severe case of "Jet Lag." 

A group of Obama's old college friends gathered to watch the debate on TV at the Hole in the Wall in Phoenix, Arizona, and when asked for their reactions after the debate, all chimed in, "Wha, he always acted that way, well, you know, ah, when ..... well .... thas jus him."

Debate?

I did not watch the "debate" last night. I don't have my balloon anymore and had no use for all the "hot air." I was convinced of the outcome. I did not want to see "embarrassment," live, on my TV. I watched the Yankees play the Redsox. I knew they were evenly matched. Here are two opinions I value ... jbd


I thought Romney was a blowout winner in first half of debate especially for his specifics and knowledge of issues....Obama wandered often but may have had a slightly better second half because he could spend time on Obamacare....good debate but Romney won, 38-20! - Frank Beckman

Here in the United States, we have glorified such things as the shootout at the OK corral.

If the first presidential debate was touted to be a shootout, Romney was the Earps and Obama was the kid in the background, cleaning the stalls.

American voters-even those who have blindly followed the current president saw several filings in the debate.

First of course is the fact that Obama has no idea what he is doing.

Second, the governor was totally prepared, knew his facts and figures and Obama did not. He did not prepare and he did not know his facts and figures.

If you watched you could see how Romney took the president apart and, more telling, it was evident that Obama knew it too. After being corrected so many times and-if you will-schooled in business you could actually see the body language change as Obama realized he was out of his league.

Mr. Romney did all of this artfully, seemingly not wanting to hurt the president anymore than he had to. But America now sees that there is a definite difference between the two men and one has the experience to help us and the other one is lost without a teleprompter and not used to be in asked questions. - Jim Madison

Headed East

They say trends start in California and move eastward. If so, here’s what your state might look like someday. Gov. Jerry Brown is clearing away nearly a thousand new laws passed by the legislature. Among those he signed are a ban on gay conversion therapy, a bill allowing juvenile murderers with life sentences to become eligible for early release after 25 years, and an extension of tax breaks for movie and TV producers who shoot in California. That should keep so many of them from running off to cheaper, non-union locations to shoot their movies about evil, outsourcing Republican businessmen.

But the biggest news out of California is that Brown signed a controversial and long-stalled bill allowing hundreds of thousands of young illegal immigrants to obtain California driver’s licenses if they qualify for Obama’s new federal work program. Proponents see it as another step in comprehensive immigration reform that will create a pathway to citizenship. Even a few Republicans finally supported it on grounds of public safety: they figure illegal immigrants are going to drive anyway. Maybe now, they’ll finally take driving tests and buy car insurance.

But Gov. Brown did veto a bill known as the Trust Act. It was passed to spite Arizona’s tough new immigration laws. It would’ve prohibited local sheriffs from cooperating with federal authorities to detain suspected illegal immigrants for potential deportation, unless they are charged with a serious or violent felony. So not only would sheriffs not have been allowed to do the job Washington refuses to do and detain someone for being in the country illegally, they wouldn’t even be allowed to detain them even if Washington asked them to. That was going too far even for California. At least, for now.

A demand for new laws restricting anti-Islamic speech…and it’s not in the Middle East.

It’s in the Mid-West. 

A group of Muslims in Dearborn, Michigan, rallied Friday to demand the passage of blasphemy laws to criminalize speech that hurts “the religious feelings of Muslims” because it incites hatred and violence. 

Apparently, if you criticize any other religion and get a violent reaction, it’s the fault of the people who reacted violently; but if you criticize Islam and someone reacts violently, they think we should arrest the critic. 

If you think that doesn’t sound like America, you’re right. 

But it does sound like the New York Transit Authority. They just voted unanimously to ban subway ads that might incite anger after a Muslim commentator from MSNBC vandalized a pro-Israel poster. 

Obviously, her violent reaction was the sign’s fault.

Almost 2,400 U.S. Millionaires Pocketed Jobless Benefits

Almost 2,400 people who received unemployment insurance in 2009 lived in households with annual incomes of $1 million or more, according to the Congressional Research Service.

The report was released after about 1.1 million people exhausted their jobless benefits during the second quarter of 2012, when more than 4.6 million filed initial unemployment claims. Eliminating those payments to high earners is one idea being considered as U.S. lawmakers struggle to curb a projected $1.1 trillion deficit for the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30, with the nationwide jobless rate at 8.1 percent.

“Sending millionaires unemployment checks is a case study in out-of-control spending,” U.S. Senator Tom Coburn, an Oklahoma Republican, said in an e-mail. “Providing welfare to the wealthy undermines the program for those who need it most while burdening future generations with senseless debt.”

WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) — In a reversal, Mike Tyson has been denied entry to the country whose indigenous Maori people he says inspired his facial tattoo.

New Zealand authorities on Wednesday cancelled an entry visa for the former heavyweight boxing champion and convicted rapist, days after the prime minister spoke out against his planned visit.

The Las Vegas celebrity had earlier been granted an exemption to New Zealand immigration rules to speak at a November charitable event, "Day of the Champions." Tyson's 1992 rape conviction would have normally made him ineligible to enter the country.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — California investigators searched Monday for thieves who made off with an estimated $2 million in precious gems and gold from a mining museum in the Sierra Nevada foothills during a brazen daytime robbery.

But they didn't get away with the biggest prize of all — the nearly 14-pound Fricot Nugget, a giant crystalline gold mass unearthed in the Gold Rush era.

During their attempt to grab the massive nugget, the robbers triggered an alarm that alerted authorities who swarmed the museum but were unable to nab the thieves.

At least two robbers wearing hoods and armed with pickaxes threatened workers during the heist Friday at the California Mining and Minerals Museum in Mariposa, the California Highway Patrol said.

No suspects have been identified.

Going, going, going .....................

Australia's Great Barrier Reef is a glittering gem — the world's largest coral reef ecosystem — chock-full of diverse marine life. But new research shows it is also in steep decline, with half of the reef vanishing in the past 27 years.

Katharina Fabricius, a coral reef ecologist at the Australian Institute of Marine Science and study co-author, told LiveScience that she has been diving and working on the reef since 1988 — and has watched the decline. "I hear of the changes anecdotally, but this is the first long-term look at the overall status of the reef.

There are still a lot of fish, and you can see giant clams, but not the same color and diversity as in the past."
To get their data, Fabricius and her colleagues surveyed 214 different reefs around the Great Barrier Reef, compiling information from 2,258 surveys to determine the rate of decline between 1985 and 2012. They estimated the coral cover, or the amount of the seafloor covered with living coral.

That overall 50-percent decline, they estimate, is a yearly loss of about 3.4 percent of the reef.

I've been 80 now for two days and I don't think I feel any different. I am still sick of politics, I still don't understand the rationale of spending 6 BILLION dollars to land a $400,000,00 job. The strategy of both sides boils down to making negative comments about your opponent. I tune out everything said by either candidate because I know it means nothing.

Putting Obama back in office is akin to giving Edward John Smith (the Captain of the Titanic) another ship to  take on a cruise. I marvel at that kind of thinking. What ever happened to Performance Evaluations. Private industry has them, they want to make sure teachers have them, most people are judged on Performance, all but politicians. They are allowed to spend all of their time in office, campaigning and working on staying in office. I guess you can't evaluate their performance when they have not performed.

I guess part of the reason we see so many TV ads on a local level, there are no newspapers anymore. Also see a lot of ads on this computer, Facebook, etc. And, of course, yard signs, always yard signs. That is probably the only part of campaigning  that has stayed the same. Find all the best locations and stick a sign in the ground.

I still have not figured out when and who decided it was fine for men to take off their neckties and go around with an open shirt. I am big on perception, and I like to see a necktie on. Or, appearing on stage, performing, in a T-shirt. I think it shows a lack of respect for an audience to appear in some of the "get ups" they wear today. Perception, how are YOU perceived. Most news commentators wear ties, late night "hosts" wear ties. not all do. I still don't like walking into my local bank and see the "bankers" wearing golf shirts. I remember on one of my stays in our local hospital, a Sunday morning, a doctor came to my room to check on me, wearing flip-flops, a white jacket over his golf shirt and had a pony tail.

I guess that shows I am 80, or at least old. I still don't like seeing, a man who wants to be the President of the United States, wanting my vote, and appealing to me for that vote, wearing jeans and a shirt with no tie.
