WRONG, WRONG, WRONG ............

At a hastily convened news conference Friday evening, President Obama offered his explanation of why debt negotiations with House Speaker John Boehner fizzled, and he once again raised the specter of entitlement checks not going out if the debt ceiling isn’t raised soon.


“Well, when it comes to all the checks, not just Social Security — veterans, people with disabilities — about 70 million checks are sent out each month — if we default then we’re going to have to make adjustments. And I’m already consulting with (Treasury) Secretary (Tim) Geithner in terms of what the consequences would be,” Obama said.


“We should not even be in that kind of scenario. And if Congress — and in particular, the House Republicans — are not willing to make sure that we avoid default, then I think it’s fair to say that they would have to take responsibility for whatever problems arise in those payments.”


In the next breath, Obama said he’s “not interested in finger-pointing and I’m not interested in blame, but I just want the facts to speak for themselves.”

WE DO NOT have a LEADER in the country at this time, we had a politician, running for election, a man looking for friends, a man who wants to be adored

This country is on a "runaway" rollercoaster, gaining momentum all the time, gaining speed all the time. NO ONE is in control of the coaster, and if SOMEONE doesn't take control of the coaster, it is going to  speed into a curve, jump the rails, and be destroyed.

7:30, Monday night, 13 December, 2010, freezing cold outside, snowy, watch Two and a Half Men reruns on TV, in relative comfort here in out apartment.

Just watched the news, they interviewed some folks, married, three kids, out of work, no money to pay their heating bill, so they are staying warm as best they can. Weather report has us being extremely cold for the next week or so, Winter hasn't even started yet.

The family on TV indicated they were going to bypass Christmas this year, no money for a tree or presents.

Then the news switched to the tree in New York, showed all the shoppers and all the decorations.

My daughter stopped by today, if nothing happens soon, her new business is slow, they are going to skip Christmas this year

Now the ad on TV wants me to load up the car and drive to West Virginia to see all the lights and decorations at a park there. They even want me to spend the weekend at their hotel, and eat in their dining room.

Something seems wrong, big battle on how much income tax the ultra rich are going to have to pay this year, right after the folks that can't pay for heat, just seems like something is wrong.

Two news items, tax questions about how much the mega rich should pay followed by how the unemployed can keep from freezing during this cold spell.
