How Does One Get Reelected with this Economy?


There’s just no longer any way to spin this. There is no reason why the economy should not be picking up after three and a half years of the Obama presidency. Unless the problem is the Obama presidency.

You can do all the micro-targeting, all the get–out-the-vote efforts, and all the demonization of your opponent that you want. But unless it turns out that Romney spent his weekends during the 1980s robbing banks and loan sharking, I just don’t see how Obama gets reelected.

Perhaps the only thing that can save Obama would be a dramatic external event, like war with Iran or a terrorist attack, which causes the country to rally around the president. It could happen.

The interesting thing about the slowing economy is the cause: Businesses and consumers don’t want to spend. They are uncertain. And that’s Obama’s fault.

Just got an email from the Obama folks, Focus On The Next 4 Years, Not The Last Ones

That certainly got me to thinking, how is that possible. Made me think of my old Oakwood High School class song, "Guide your future by your past.........."

Let's look at the positives he has done. .................. OK, keep looking. OK. He has "lowered the bar" on ALL aspects of the Presidency, perhaps that is what he meant. He was not qualified four years ago, now he has a little experience and is qualified. He has abused possibly every "perk" that exists for being president, as well as his wife.

He is now in the same "atmosphere" with rock singers, professional athletes and  movie stars, i.e. private jet, mansion, automobiles ... and, the appearance (if nothing more than in his own mind) of being adored. He is surrounded by "YES" men, speech writers, teleprompters, "wannabe's" and money. And, and, just maybe, he can come up with his birth certificate if we give him another four years.

I think what he meant was, if we all intently look ahead, we will not look at the past, he didn't say "let my  record speak for itself." I wonder what it would sound like, if it spoke?
