Donald Trump Staff in Talks With Financiers, Campaign Managers to Explore Third Party Bid

Donald Trump’s top political adviser told ABC News he’s speaking to “high-level political operatives” to explore a third-party presidential bid on behalf of the real estate mogul, in a sign that Trump may not quite be done with the 2012 presidential race just yet.

“I can confirm that over the past two weeks I have spoken with many high-level political operatives, campaign managers, finance directors — some of whom I have spoken to in the past. Most are new people from all over the country,” said Michael Cohen, executive vice president at the Trump Organization and special counsel to the reality-TV star.

“Until the time Mr. Trump decides to either endorse a candidate or run himself, I am exploring on his behalf the possibilities of ensuring Mr. Trump appears on the ballot in all states, and to develop a team of professionals who could ensure a potential victory,” Cohen added.

I've considered this scenario for quite a while. I have always liked what he has stated. I don't know how it would effect the outcome of the election, but it might be interesting to find out. I think an Obama/Romney race will be a no-brainer, with Obama winning in a landslide. If Trump can glean some Republican and Democratic votes, and get many of the Independent vote, might make for an interesting race .

Following is a statement that New York businessman Donald Trump released exclusively to Newsmax today regarding Republican Bob Turner’s stunning victory in the special election in the 9th Congressional District Tuesday.

“I must admit that I have done a lot of promotion throughout my career, but my foray into robo-calling this past week on behalf of Bob Turner in the congressional district where I grew up was a unique first experience which I am happy to see helped produce a historic result.

“I was honored when candidate Bob Turner came to meet with me to discuss his campaign this past month. During our meeting in Trump Tower, Bob discussed his pro-growth platform of low taxes, protecting Social Security and Medicare, and his plan to promote small businesses both within his district and nationwide during his term in Congress.

“I was impressed that Bob got 40 percent against an entrenched Anthony Weiner a year ago based on hard work and a clear pro-job growth message. Bob Turner is the kind of guy we need in Congress if we are going to make America great again.

“This time Turner, a successful private businessman, was running against a career politician who could never make it in the private sector and has no idea how jobs are created. I was also pleased that Bob’s message on protecting our national security put a strong emphasis on our relationship with Israel in a predominantly Democratic district that gave Barack Obama 55 percent of the vote in 2008.
“From the time of our meeting, Bob piqued my interest not only in his campaign but the larger message that this race could send to Barack Obama. As I stated in my robo-call, which was primarily played to Democratic households because campaign polls showed I had very high favorable ratings with these folks, “If you don’t like what’s going on in Washington, if you don’t like what’s happening with Israel, because Israel is being treated very badly and very unfairly by the Obama administration, vote for Bob Turner. Trust me, they’ll notice. Electing Bob Turner on Tuesday will be a shot heard ‘round the country.”

The TRUMPet Sounds

Fox and Friends spoke to Donald Trump about the current situation in Libya and how the administration is handling the U.S. position. Trump said since the U.S. has spent billions of dollars via NATO, and in the old days, being the victor in a war meant reaping the benefits, why wouldn’t the U.S. reimburse itself with Libyan oil? “What do we get out of all these things?” he asked, saying if the rebels are successful and gain control over the country’s oil reserves, they’ll be richer than some in our own country. He also commented on a story that reported China is taking control of the tremendous mineral deposits in Afghanistan, while we fight a war there, saying “we’re very foolish as a nation.”


“The Donald” also responded to questions about his opinion regarding a possible presidential run by former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, whom he met for pizza in June in New York City, saying he didn’t think she was going to earlier, but over the last few days he has noticed it looks like she may be entering the race. Trump said he’s never thought President Obama would be tough to beat, but the Republicans have to pick the right person, and Rep. Paul Ryan’s attack on Medicare makes him untenable as a candidate.

Over 1 Million Take Trump for President Poll

Online participants in the ongoing survey, a non-scientific poll, also support Trump by a wide margin in a head-to-head matchup with President Barack Obama.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the poll had received 1,026,891 responses, the largest poll ever fielded by Newsmax.

If the election were held today, Trump — who says he is seriously considering a run for president in 2012 — would beat Obama in a landslide, 65 percent to 16 percent. But that lead is just as sizeable when Trump faces off against the best and the brightest in the oft-mentioned field of GOP contenders for 2012.

Trump takes 55 percent of the vote in a field including Mike Huckabee, Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney, and Tim Pawlenty. His closest competitor, according to the poll, is former Massachusetts Gov. Romney with 10 percent of the vote.

The online poll has already attracted considerable attention in the media. Outlets such as U.S. News & World Report, FoxNews.com, the “Fox & Friends” TV show, Fox News’ Sean Hannity, and Slate.com have all mentioned the poll in recent days.

Can President Obama be defeated in 2012?

    Can President Obama be defeated in 2012?

 No. He can't. I am going on record as saying that President Barak Obama will win a second term.

     The media won't tell you this because a good election campaign means hundreds of millions (or in Obama's case billions from billionaire philanthropist George Soros as his primary funder) of dollars to them in advertising.
     But the truth is, there simply are no conditions under which Barak Obama can be defeated in 2012.
     The quality of the Republican candidate doesn't matter. Obama gets reelected.
     Nine percent unemployment? No problem. Obama will win.
     Gas prices moving toward five dollars a gallon? He still wins.
     The economy soars or goes into the gutter. Obama wins.
     War in the Middle East ? He wins a second term.
     America's role as the leading Superpower disappears? Hurrah for Barak Obama!
     The U.S. government rushes toward bankruptcy, the dollar continues to sink on world markets and the price of daily goods and services soars due to inflation fueled by Obama's extraordinary deficit spending? Obama wins handily.
     You are crazy Williams. Don't you understand how volatile politics can be when overall economic, government, and world conditions are declining?
     Sure I do. And that's why I know Obama will win. The American people are notoriously ignorant of economics. And economics is the key to why Obama should be defeated.
     Even when Obama's policies lead the nation to final ruin, the majority of the American people are going to believe the bait-and-switch tactics Obama and his supporters in the media will use to explain why it isn't his fault.
     After all, things were much worse than understood when he took office.
     Obama's reelection is really a very, very simple math problem.

Consider the following:
     1) Blacks will vote for Obama blindly. Period. Doesn't matter what he does. It's a race thing. He's one of us,
     2) College educated women will vote for Obama. Though they will be offended by this, they swoon at his oratory. It's really not more complex than that,
     3) Liberals will vote for Obama. He is their great hope,
     4) Democrats will vote for Obama. He is the leader of their party and his coattails will carry them to victory nationwide,
     5) Hispanics will vote for Obama. He is the path to citizenship for those who are illegal and Hispanic leaders recognize the political clout they carry in the Democratic Party,
     6) Union members will vote overwhelmingly for Obama. He is their key to money and power in business, state and local politics,
     7) Big Business will support Obama. They already have. He has almost $1 Billion dollars in his reelection purse gained largely from his connections with Big Business and is gaining more everyday. Big Business loves Obama because he gives them access to taxpayer money so long as they support his social and political agenda,
     8) The media love him. They may attack the people who work for him, but they love him. After all, to not love him would be racist,
     9) Most other minorities and special interest groups will vote for him. Oddly, the overwhelming majority of Jews and Muslims will support him because they won't vote Republican.
      American Indians will support him.
     Obviously homosexuals tend to vote Democratic.
10) Approximately half of independents will vote for Obama. And he doesn't need anywhere near that number because he has all of the groups previously mentioned.

In my opinion, only ONE Candidate can stand a chance, Donald Trump, and only if he SHUTS UP about the damned birth certificate, and starts pounding out about BUSINESS, HIS business experience, and what he can do as a BUSINESSMAN not a POLITICIAN to turn things around. He is carrying some negative baggage, but all of his POSITIVE BAGGAGE has to be exploited. I agree with most of the above by Dr. Williams. I have said all along that the "Wait till 2012" was going to be a BIG disappointment to the Republicans unless they got off of their ... and started getting things done.

Donald Trump tops new 2012 poll

A new CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll out today finds Trump tied with Mike Huckabee atop the field of potential GOP White House contenders. According to the poll, Trump and Huckabee both garner 19 percent support among likely GOP voters. Sarah Palin comes in second, with 12 percent, while Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich are tied atthird, with 11 percent support each.

That's a significant drop for Romney, who was at 18 percent support in CNN's poll last month. The poll echoes the findings of a NBC/Wall Street Journal poll last week that found Trump bouncing into second place among likely contenders, tied with Huckabee.

All of this comes as Trump steps up his 2012 maneuvering, especially among social conservatives who seem unhappy with the current field of GOP contenders.

There is a place for a CEO presidential candidate in 2012. So far, Donald Trump isn’t filling it.

Instead of focusing on his executive abilities and job-creating experience, The Donald has been busy going the full Birther.

It’s hard to tell whether he’s free-lancing or just very badly advised, but one thing is clear—Donald Trump is trying to apply New York City tabloid rules to a prospective national presidential campaign. This ain’t going to end well.

Relentless self-promotion and shock-jock sound-bites might get you headlines, but it won’t get you taken seriously. That helps when you want to be trusted with your finger on the button.

And pandering to the lowest common denominator of the electorate isn’t doing to get this self-styled symbol of America’s super-rich confused with a conservative populist.

They’re still going to know that you live in New York City in a gleaming gold office tower and fly in a private plane with your name on the side. Parading common conspiracy theories isn’t the same as sharing values. And even a cursory glance at the Trump biography would show that he doesn’t have any business going after the values vote. This is pandering for no purpose.

The irony is that there is a tradition of CEO political candidates which Trump could semi-credibly try to fill. It is a path that Wendell Wilkie walked to win the GOP presidential nomination in 1940. It is the appeal that led to “Draft Lee Iacocca” efforts in 1988 and the independent candidacy of Ross Perot in 1992. Its most successful modern practitioner is New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

The CEO candidate promises to run government like a business: balance the budget, cut through red tape and unleash the entrepreneurial spirit. It’s a no-nonsense pitch, offering decisive leadership that is independent from special interests and promises to focus on job creation and American competitiveness. The CEO candidate is at least agnostic on the subject of social issue litmus tests because they are largely irrelevant to on-the-job performance. A candidate like Trump can fairly say that he wants the government out of the bedroom and out of the boardroom.

Donald Trump 'Tempted' to Run for President

Does he mean it this time? Billionaire Donald Trump, the New York-based real estate tycoon and deal maker, says he is very tempted to run for president as a Republican in 2012 and will decide whether to do so by June.

"I am seriously thinking about it," Trump said on CNN Wednesday night. "I love this country. I hate what's happened to this country. We are a laughingstock throughout the world. We're not respected."

In an interview with Piers Morgan, Trump declared China an "enemy" of the United States and vowed that, if elected president, he would impose a 25 percent tax on all Chinese products. "They want to take over this country economically. They are not really out-competing. They are cheating" by manipulating currency, he said. "They are not our friends."

As president, Trump said he would replace U.S. diplomats with "business leaders" -- the "killers on Wall Street, of which I know every one of them." His people, he said, would not only confront the Chinese but OPEC, which could send gasoline prices to "five, six, seven dollars pretty soon because there's nobody here that calls them and says, 'Fellas, you better not do it.' "

Trump said he liked President Obama personally but believed the Democrat was in over his head at the White House.

Perhaps signaling his seriousness about a possible run, Trump planned to speak at the opening of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington. The annual event offers a platform for would-be Republican presidential candidates.

My Candidate for President of the United States

I have never really been a BIG fan of his, I don't care for his TV shows, I questioned his views on marriage, and I think I have looked upon him as being somewhat of a "whack" job.

I have been reading some of  his views, opinions, values, heard him speak on some radio talk shows, and I must admit, I like what I am hearing him say. Things like, If we do something for a country, they should pay us for it."

If we send an entire fleet to an area on the globe to quell an uprising, they should reimburse us for it. For example, we paid to have all the oil field fires put out, by a country that has trillions of dollars, and got not even a "thank you" from them, let alone any reimbursement.

I guess that is the businessman in him, if you perform of service, of any kind, you get reimbursed.

He does have a major shortcoming though, he is NOT a politician.

Well, perhaps, let's look at the mess we are in, because of politicians, maybe that is a good thing. Time for a successful businessman to be in charge and "run the company," ............ properly.

IF he runs, and I think he will, I will vote for Donald Trump.
