George W. Bush speech after capture of Saddam Hussein:
?The success of yesterday's mission is a tribute to our men and women now serving in Iraq . The operation was based on the superb work of intelligence analysts who found the dictator's footprints in a vast country. The operation was carried out with skill and precision by a brave fighting force. Our servicemen and women and our coalition allies have faced many dangers in the hunt for members of the fallen regime, and in their effort to bring hope and freedom to the Iraqi people. Their work continues, and so do the risks. Today, on behalf of the nation, I thank the members of our Armed Forces and I congratulate 'them."
Barack Hussein Obama speech, Sunday, May 1, 2011:
And so shortly after taking office, I directed Leon Panetta, the director of the CIA, to make the killing or capture of bin Laden the top priority of our war against al Qaeda, even as I continued our broader efforts to disrupt, dismantle, and defeat his network. Then, last August, after years of painstaking work by my intelligence community, I was briefed on a possible lead to bin Laden. It was far from certain, and it took many months to run this thread to ground. I met repeatedly with my national security team as we developed more information about the possibility that we had located bin Laden hiding within a compound deep inside of Pakistan . And finally, last week, I determined that I had enough intelligence to take action, and authorized an operation to get Osama bin Laden and bring him to justice. Today, at my direction, the United States launched a targeted operation against that compound in Abbottabad , Pakistan .

WHAT A TOUCH OF CLASS LOOKS LIKE.
There's a group of ladies in the Dallas area who make and stuff neck pillows for soldiers coming through DFW airport.
They go to the airport and meet the incoming planes every week and greet the soldiers coming back for a few weeks R&R, give them a pillow, tell them they pray for them, and thank them for their service.
The lady who took the pictures said everyone was so surprised to see George and Laura Bush recently just standing quietly in the waiting area with others who come to meet the troop planes.
She said it was amazing to watch the faces of the soldiers light up in recognition when they spotted them, and that many came over to speak and shake hands.

Enlighten me if any of you can remember any ex-president and wife that stood in line at an airport to greet our servicemen and women as they are coming home.
Definitely a big difference between talkers and doers.
He doesn't have to do anything like this and the News sure isn't showing it.

"Sorry Dad, Mom and I are tied up."
The Presidential Medal of Freedom was awarded today, among others, to the 41st President of the United States, George W. Bush, for his contributions to the security or national interests of the United States, to world peace, or to cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.
And, his kid, the 43rd President of the United States, could NOT ATTEND, he had a "Schedule Conflict.
"Sorry, Dad, would have loved to see you get the Presidential Medal of Freedom, but Mom and I were tied up."
I would love to know what was more important than that, and we will never know. 43, I lost a lot of respect for you today.

Bush Daughter Backs Gay Marriage
by The Associated Press
Former President George W. Bush's daughter Barbara has announced her support for gay marriage, breaking with her father on a key social issue but joining her mother and other prominent Republicans who back same-sex unions.
The Human Rights Campaign, a national gay rights organization, released a video Tuesday featuring the 29-year old Bush, a New York resident who runs Global Health Corps, a nonprofit public health organization.
"I'm a New Yorker for marriage equality,'' Bush says in the video. "New York is about fairness and equality and everyone should have the right to marry the person that they love.''
Paul Guequierre, a spokesman for the Human Rights Campaign, said the video was produced to help promote efforts to win same-sex marriage rights in New York. A bill legalizing gay marriage passed the New York state Assembly in 2009 but was defeated in the state Senate that year. But Gov. Andrew Cuomo, a Democrat, has announced his support for same-sex marriage, and advocates believe they have enough votes in both chambers for a bill to pass this year.
"New York is one of our priority states,'' Guequierre said.
Barbara Bush's advocacy for gay marriage is a sharp departure from her father's position on the issue.
