They took me to the cleaners .... over shaving

10/9/13 - I feel humiliated, abused, manipulated and hurt. As some might remember, I found my old Gillette Razor from many years ago. The one where you twist at the bottom and the blade part opens up. It had a lot of old junk from shaving in it, so I soaked it in my "oil" and cleaned it up. Finding double edge blades is not easy. Walmart had none, I did some other looking and finally found some at Krogers the other day. Stainless steel double edge blades. Not as cheap as they used to be.

So, today, I finally got around to using my old razor from probably thirty years ago. I rinsed my face, applied my Barbasol lather, I turned the bottom of the razor, it opened up, put in a new blade, turned and it closed, and started shaving. I was shocked, amazed, I felt nothing, no tugging, no pulling, just a nice smooth clean shave. Why had I ever quit using it?

I know why, they came out with a new ..... TWO BLADE .... shave, cost more, but, two blades, WOW, who cares how much it costs. Then THREE blades, more money, FOUR blades, more money, etc., etc., etc. Now, some places, they are even locked up, they are so expensive. How many dollars have I spent on blades. Then, it cost less to get a new razor, so I did that, and there were so many different blade types, sizes, etc., that I could never remember which one I was using.

Then, I got one that ..................... v  i  b  r  a  t  e  d ...... how great was that?  No wonder they didn't want me to use the old razor any more, it was inexpensive and gave a great shave.

Thanks to advertising, marketing and so forth, I kept up with all the latest and newest, I HAD to have them, they were more DESIRABLE to have. Now I have my old razor, with the new blade, soaking in my cup of oil. Will see how long that lasts .......
