Watched the WNBA game last night, Minnesota is playing Atlanta in the tournament finals. Minnesota is two games up, they look tough. Now the games go to Atlanta. These are great games, if you are not watching them you are missing some great basketball. Maya Moore is great, as she was in college. Lindsay Whalen is also a great player. They play again Thursday night.
Been thinking about the government shutdown. Reminds me of two people, playing tennis, without a ball, just going through the motions.
I remember back in the 60's or so, had an employment agency, great jobs were with Xerox, NCR, computer programming was in demand, GM, all the big corporations were great jobs. Never recommended anyone going to work in "government" of any kind. Except, here in town, we had the Newark Air Force Base, which had no landing strip, but they did highly skilled work on missiles, etc., very technical. Good paying job, but they hired their own.
Now, I honestly think, if I was in an employment agency, I would recommend going to work someplace, anyplace, for the government, or get in to politics. Strange, "Go to work for the government." About the only job anymore that seems to have a future, and benefits that are no longer available in the workplace. Good retirement, "double dipping" is available, start young, put in your time, retire, with pay, and continue working, getting payed. Great jobs.
Cleaning the fridge out this morning, a walk down memory lane. "I thought I threw that out - I remember that - those were good - that expired, when? - that's pretty mold, isn't it - don't let Caleb get that, he'll get sick"
