Biker in Custody for Allegedly Punching, Kicking SUV Driver

A biker allegedly seen on video punching and kicking the SUV driver after last weekend's melee is in custody, NBC 4 New York has learned.

The 29-year-old Brooklyn man is expected to be charged with gang assault, law enforcement officials say. Several others have already been arrested in the chase that began on the West Side Highway and ended with the beating of the driver, who was with his wife and child.

The confrontation, which was caught on video, erupted after several bikers stopped the Range Rover on the West Side Highway, attacked the vehicle, then chased the driver and pulled him from the car after he plowed over a motorcyclist while trying to escape. The driver, Alexian Lien, needed stitches after being pummeled by the bikers.
