A double-decker bus hit an overpass in Manhattan on Tuesday, snarling morning traffic near the Lincoln Tunnel.
The bus appeared to be coming from Pittsburgh when it struck the overpass on the 40th Street ramp of the inbound tunnel, causing inbound delays of up to 45 minutes. According to the Megabus website, a bus that left Pittsburgh Tuesday at 11:45 p.m. was set to arrive in New York at 8:30 a.m.
Port Authority said the driver was issued a ticket and two people were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Commuters tweeted about the crash that caught them in traffic jams Tuesday morning.
"Entire port authority bus lane is shut down because a megabus was too tall for the overpass and is now stuck under it," tweeted Liz O'Connor.
Megabus had no immediate comment.
